What does everybody think of OU football. I heard a commercial on 1460 for season tickets $60, and their whole "Got Frank" campaign

what kind of timetable is there for them turning the program around

I think Solich has his work cut out for him. This team will start 0-3, probably 1-4 into conference play. At least they'll beat Buffalo ... but this non-conference schedule for a traditional MAC doormat is tough.

Code:
DATE OPPONENT RESULT/TIME
09/03	at N'western	12:00 PM
09/09	#25 Pittsburgh	8:00 PM
09/17	at #7 Va Tech	3:30 PM
09/24	Kent St 2:00 PM
10/08	at BGU 6:00 PM
10/15	at C Michigan	1:00 PM
10/22	Ball St 2:00 PM
10/29	at Buffalo	1:30 PM
11/04	Toledo 8:00 PM
11/15	at Akron	7:30 PM
11/21	Miami (OH)	7:30 PM
I just might have to drive down to Athens on Friday, Sept 9 and check out that Bobcat/Panthers match-up though.

Wait til next year when VaTech actually comes to Athens. I know I am heading down to that one along with many fellow OU alums.

Why are we even talking about OU football here??? The only reason that their tickets are that much is because Frank's contract. They can't fill the seat with the team that is on the field so they hire a well known coach to try to generate ticket sales.

Damn, I didn't think about the OU/Pitt game being at 8:00 against the Colerain/Tyler Lee HS game being played at Crew Stadium that same night ... which to attend? Either one would be an awesome warm-up to OSU/TX the following night.

Now that I think about it, I might actually have to pace myself and call off work that Friday. That's going to be a rough 36-hour stretch of beer and football pre-game/post-game partying.

I think I'm going to have to pick Athens though to see the Peden Stadium debut of Frank Solich's OU Bobcats.

I don't see more than 3 wins this year (that might be a bit much)... I've heard the team is pumped up this year. At least Solich has the team thinking they can compete (whether that's true or not is a different story).

I'm curious to see what kind of results Solich will be able to generate at OU. He obviously has his hands full recruiting, but could be able to make some progress against the other MAC schools. They will still be terrible for a couple years though.

This is the first year I've ever really heard anything about OU football, the buzz around the program potentially turning things around should get people interested...if they start to win some games that program can really turn around quickly maybe. I also hear that there are a ton of upcoming renovations to Peden Stadium and their training facilities, they might definitely start competing for some of the second tier talent in Ohio/WV/etc if that is true.

I thought they already dumped major money into Peden... If he gets several years I don't see why he cannot be a force in the MAC (that's a force in the MAC NOT a force in the country... I'm by no means saying OU will be known nationally). BG and Cryami (OH) are the two programs left that have been good for many years. With marshal and the florida school out the door, I would think in a few years OU could be on par with those two programs...
