And it’s no longer open to the public or media.

The ultimate recruiting event for Ohio State football has hit a bit of a snag, with Friday Night Lights— scheduled for tonight— being moved indoors due to inclement weather. With storms barreling through Columbus most of the early-afternoon, it’s not that surprising that they would move the event inside.

It is surprising, however, that the move also means that the event will be closed to both the public and media. So, if you were planning on making the trip to campus, you should rethink your plans and find something else to do with your evening.


Ohio State’s public workout tonight at 4:30pm has been moved indoors and is no longer open to the public. Sadly, Friday Night Lights is also no longer open to the public per a release by Ohio State.

This is one of the biggest recruiting events for the Buckeyes, and a couple of big name prospects were expected to commit after embracing the uniquely awesome environment of playing in The ‘Shoe. Now, a hundred-or-so high school players will make their way over to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center for their OSU camp.

Now, it looks like Urban Meyer and his coaching staff will be trying to recreate an atmosphere that usually includes hundreds of fans on a random Friday during the summer, without any of that fan energy.

This weather-related hiccup shouldn’t prevent any prospect from committing, but it will certainly steal a little bit of the excitement had they done it under the lights. If and when players make their OSU pledges tonight from the Woody Hayes, we will make sure to let you know.
