Ohio State is exciting!!!

JXC

17-4 since 2001
Is it just me or is this team just extremely exciting to watch??? There is more talent on the field than there has been since 1998. Watching these guys come together the past 2 games has just been wonderful. I watch them and just see how great of a football team we can be. I mean Justin Zwick just threw for 300 yards and 3 Touchdowns in his 2nd game as a Buckeye. The defense looks quick to the ball and made the adjustments during the game that they needed to. The defense was put under a lot of pressure. It seemed like they were out there the whole game, especially in the 4th quarter. And they came through when it counted. You could see how pumped up the defense and the crowd was after every key stop. You could see Justin learning and growing and feeling more confident on the field. Lydell Ross wasn't ripping off big yardage runs, but quietely had a 90 yard game after a 140 yard game. And the young Pittman looks like an excellent back...hopefully he can get healthy soon. I don't know if Ohio State will win a Big Ten Championship this year, but they have the potential too. These are Tressel's boys and they are just plain exciting to watch!

Just rewatched the first half and I'll give you 3 more reasons to be excited.

1) JZ had all day to throw. The only sack he took was squarely on him, he had all day to throw it away and instead youth and inexperience took over and made him do a stupid thing. Easily correctible.

2) The offenses response to the Marshall fuble recovery. Long methodical drive for a TD, you couldn't draw up a better answer to that challenge. Thats usually a sign of a very good, very mentally tough veteran team. The fact it was done by our young inexperienced team is quite impressive to me.

3) Two pretty easy INT's were flat dropped by OSU We also forced a fuble from Stan Hill but didn't recover it. The TO battle isn't as far away from being won as some may fear.

All in all, the more I watch the games over and look at the stats without gameday emotion clouding my judgement the more good things I see from these first two games. I just can't tell you how much growing up I feel we saw Saturday.

1- the coverage on the sack was really wierd it was a 3 deep with two intermediate levels, he should have thrown it away, but atleast he realized they did a good job gisguises the coverage scheme

3- the first one we went for the jugular i love that-the second we went right back at them i like that to, the gunslinger mentality

and on the tos keith byars would always say there like the flu, you eather got em or you dont (on o and def)
