Game Thread Ohio State @ Maryland - 11/17/18, 12:00PM (ABC)

Right. And unless Urban clears house tonight, it's not changing till January. And I get being pissed. I am. Just...I guess it's personal preference but it's worth trying to enjoy the little victories this season.

I'd welcome wholeslae changes heading into bowl practices.
Change up some players too. Jordan should not be playing Center. With all the length on the OLine, somebody else needs to be able to play RT.
Get more DLine guys into the rotation. I loved Werner's energy on ST last year but he's lost out there. Somebody needs to teach Malik how to play assignment and not just run after the ball like a elementary school soccer kid... get him to play more disciplined and he's 1st round material. Otherwise he's late round developmental pick and praying the NFL can teach it to him. Time for Arnette and Sheff to get Vonn Bell'd and passed up by some other CBs... or a coach that can teach them.

Having calls help or hurt isn't the point. I am not some ped state jackass that blames shit on the refs when we lose, but it is their job to not totally fuck up. They did a shitty job.

The whole game from the performance of the refs but mostly the low quality of the football from both teams hurts the image of the Big Ten. This is NOT acceptable. Both teams were hapless on defense. Both offenses were undisciplined.

We complain..... ==I== complain that committee doesn't give the B1G respect. Well...... today...... I can see why.

They won the National Title that year. Like I said, Dabo cured the disease.

Even if I concede that the grass is green on that side of the fence, there are two schools that don't have issues worse than ours.

If we win this week, we are looking at a top 5 finish and watching the selection show again like we have every year of the playoffs thus far; if we don't we are still a top 15 team. For a "down" year, I'll take it.

Fix the coaching issues, bring in a new group of 4/5 stars and we are back in contention again next year. Good enough for me is all my point is.

Yea I really agree... 24 and 1 should be the corners. Then literally anyone but Werner at OLB.

I feel like one issue our defense is continually running into is the lack of size/physicality against downhill run teams.

We’ve consistently recruited what I would consider “hybrid” guys who are built to play against more spread offensive teams.

Against the Iowa’s, todays MD, even some of the downhill concepts Brohm used......teams have identified a major issue.

It doesn’t help our LB’s run themselves out of plays, but I also get the feeling filling gaps and taking on blocks isn’t natural or something they’re accustomed too.

I feel much more comfortable when the defense plays a primarily spread team. When it’s a more physical downhill rushing attack, it’s very predictable. Our defensive line needs to get massive penetration to have any shot bc our LB’s aren’t making any plays.

I've said it before, but it feels like all our LBs are trying to be Darren Lee flying sideline to sideline. Nobody wants to be Perry doing the unsexy job of plugging lanes and playing their assignment.

The defensive side of the ball needs nuked with the exception of LJ Sr. We have talented players, they are not the problem. The problem is our Shit scheme. It is embarrassing. Absolutely embarrassing to see how badly these guys are out of position, poor angles, shit tackling, it is just unreal. Fickell's D at Cincy is solid as hell. He has less talent. Way less talent. I bet the Bearcraps wouldn't give up the points we have this year, not even close. That is not a player problem, that is a coaching problem.
