Ohio State OL Chase Farris picked up by the Detroit Lions, per report

After starting in all 13 games en route to the Buckeyes Fiesta Bowl win, Chase Farris gets his chance to play football at the next level.
After helping pave the way for Ohio State to lead the Big Ten in rushing yards per game last season, Chase Farris is taking his offensive line skills to the Detroit Lions, according to Ryan Ginn. The Elyria, Ohio native was instrumental in helping fellow Buckeye and NFL Draftee Ezekiel Elliott rush past the likes of Virginia Tech, Indiana, Michigan and Notre Dame this past season.
The 6'5", 310-pounder ran the 40-yard dash at Ohio State's Pro Day and clocked in at 5.17 seconds. Additionally, Farris showed off his vertical (26.5 inches), broad jump (8 feet, 6 inches), 3-cone drill (7.85 seconds) and bench press (22 reps at 225 pounds) in front of the record amount of scouts.
Analysts listed Farris' strengths as having a compact frame and strength in his hands. On the weakness side, Farris was said to have weak pass protection at tackle. That seems to take a back seat now, as he has found a home on an NFL roster. Some places had Farris as an undrafted free agent, but here is, another Buckeye off the board.
Farris began his time as a Buckeye on the defensive line, but moved to o-line – playing seven games in his freshman year (2012). In his sophomore year, Farris battled Taylor Decker for the right tackle spot, before being moved back to defense after Tommy Schutt got injured. His junior year saw the most action as a non-starter, as Farris saw action in 270 plays across the Buckeyes' national championship season.
A graduate of Ohio State in May 2015 with a degree in sports industry, Farris has done some charity work, too. Farris spent time in Costa Rica as part of the "Soles 4 Souls" initiative – a program that distributes shoes to those in need.
