Ohio State plays "buckwheat" football

Can someone please explain to me what that means?

I post on another forum of the university that I attend, Sam Houston State (we're the IAA team that got Rhett Bomar from OU and got murdred by UT this year). Anyways we're a small Division IAA school and we were discussing the low attendance at our football games. I sport the same Ohio State signature on that forum as I do on this one. Here's what one of the friendly posters had to say about that:

Nothing like an Ohio State ...."BEARKAT"????? Probably supporting them cuz they are numero uno right now... at least until Michigan gets a hold of them...but then he'll be changing his placard to being a Wolverine Fan. I heard he flew the USC placard last year until UT beat them, then he became a UT Placard flyer, until they were beat at Austin by Ohio State earlier this season so he came to fly the placard you see demonstrated here! What a freaking BOZO!

Good Riddance Adamlocked... don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way to Ohio!

Sorry the rest of us have to actually SUPPORT our School and Alma Mater! People like you on OUR CAMPUS make me want to throw up!

Hahaha, wow. I grew up in Ohio, thus I'm a OSU fan. I love their football becaues I grew up with it since I was in 1st grade. It was pretty much the first football team I grew up watching. People just don't dump teams they've been watching for years just because they move away from a town or city. And I pray to God that Texas somehow ends up in the National Championship game against OSU so they can embrass them in front of the nation, again. Beating Texas twice in the same season would be the same for me like SHSU beating down SFA twice in the same season (NOTE: SFA IS OUR SCHOOL'S RIVAL). It's sweeeeet honey!

Hahahaha! That's hilarious, I was actually surprised myself to find that it exist. Funny how I get burned on that forum, when I'm actually on the school Track team and am an active part of the athletics department.

I'm guessing it means that they know they would get their asses kicked, so they try to insult as best they could.

You could respond with something like "well it isn't as if Ohio State would schedule a small fry like SHST" or something, but I wouldn't encourage you to insult your own school...

It's ridiculous. I mean I love SHSU Football because it's MY school and I support them. But I also love OSU football because I've been a fan and supporter since I even knew SHSU existed.

I love them both, for some reason crazy KatFan over there can't get that through his head. Whatever, I think that particular poster is a member of the Football team, or ex-player or something. Like it matters, you are not acting like an adult when you are complaining that someone on a message forum about representing another school as well as your own.
