Ohio State @ Purdue, Wednesday, 830 pm, BTN

I haven't found it yet....but this should be most of the entire broadcast...

Edit: Jump forward to the 1:05:30 second mark and you can see it at full speed.

Holy shit. I didn't see any of the game last night, but skimmed through the thread and saw people bitching about the push. I expected just a run-of-the-mill bad call, but that's unbelievable. How the eff do they miss that?

There really was no excuse for the officials to miss that call but the action at that point in the game was pretty helter-skelter and so I guess I will give them that much. In real time, it is much worse than it looks in slow-motion. I think Tate was going to try and block out the big horse and the big horse just ran over him. Tate did not even make it down the court for Purdue's possession because he was laying flat underneath the Purdue basket so we were playing 4 against 5.

I haven't really had a problem with the refs all season; they make bad calls. However, this was the most egregiously poorly reffed game I've seen against the Bucks all year. I mean, easily ten head-scratching calls, besides the bad no-call on Haas. It was bad.

And we won. At Purdue. Down 14. Against the number 3 team in the country. Unbelievable!

Has anyone noticed this always seems to be the case when we play at Purdue? I remember one year (I believe when Diebler and Lighty were upper classmen) when I about drove out to West Layfayette to beat the shit out of the refs, it was the worst one-sided officiating I have ever seen. I thought this game the officiating evened out some but when you put Wesson and Tate in foul trouble early, that is a hell of a lot different then spreading out some calls here and there on Purdue's players.

This was the biggest missed call of them all, I was pissed when I saw the replay. Then yeah, Purdue goes down there with numbers and drains an uncontested 3. Huge change late in the game that should not have happened if they call the foul. And we still overcame it.

To be fair... someone should have fouled them up top when we saw Tate was not getting up. Was disappointed in that lack of awareness.

Then I quickly got over it, over the next ~20 min.

I think the B1G refs are pretty bad in general, there aren't really any "biases" they are just inconsistently consistently awful however they decide on going that particular night.

Tate getting plowed over is one of the worst no calls i've ever seen.
Every B1G game I watch, I am consistently astounded how incompetent and inconsistent the officiating is. Compared to other conferences, it's embarrassing.

Yes, football and basketball. Which is why it was completely ridiculous to have a Big 10 crew officiating the NC game this year between Alabama and Georgia. Predictably, there were multiple inexcusable gaffes.

That game at Purdue in 2010 (highlights below) was very similar to last night's game. Buckeyes trailed most of the game and took the lead at the end. The Villain was in beast mode in the second half. What a roster: Turner, Buford, Lighty, Diebler, Lauderdale, Simmons. Still one of my favorite Buckeye teams ever.

Great reference. Bigger deficit at the half, but that one felt like Purdue was going to run away with it mid and late 2nd half.
