The Buckeyes' class of 2017 changed up a bit over the weekend.

Ohio State recruiting never sleeps. Keeping Buckeye Nation on their toes on Friday, class of 2017 standout Brendon White of Olentangy Liberty verbally committed to Ohio State just days after receiving his full ride scholarship offer from the OSU coaching staff.

Following in the footsteps of his father William White, who played his college ball in the Scarlet and Gray before a solid career in the NFL, Brendon chose the Buckeyes over scholarship offers from the likes of Boston College, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Notre Dame.

Still growing, White could end up on either side of the ball when he finally reaches OSU. While he would like to suit up at wide receiver, his future is more than likely at linebacker in a similar role as current Buckeye Darron Lee.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the 6'2, 195-pound White is currently considered the 312th overall prospect in the class of 2017.

Judson decommits from OSU

ICYMI, nearly 48 hours after picking up White's commitment, the Buckeyes' class of 2017 took one on the chin. After checking out other programs, four-star athlete Bruce Judson announced via his Twitter page that he is no longer verbally committed to OSU.

An Ohio State pledge since January, Judson never really shut his recruitment down. Wanting to make sure his decision was the best one for him and his family, the junior took quite a few unofficial visits to schools closer to his Cocoa, Florida home.

Florida and Auburn, where Jamel Dean, a former Buckeye and high school teammate of Judson's now plays, are just two of the schools Bruce checked out during his time as a OSU commit. Stating the Buckeyes are still his leader, many around the scene believe the Gators could now have the inside track to land the standout.

Okudah plans visit

According to ESPN recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton, the Buckeyes will play host to one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2017 class next month.

After naming Ohio State his leader last week, five-star class of 2017 defensive back Jeffrey Okudah will make the trek from Grand Prairie, Texas to Columbus to see the Buckeyes up close and personal when they mix it up with Michigan State on the 21st of November.

A top 10-rated junior, Okudah holds scholarship offers from programs across the country. Stanford, Florida State, and Texas A&M are just a few of the schools Ohio State finds themselves up against for the 6'1,195-pound safety.

Quick Hits

  • Four-star class of 2017 tight end Cole Kmet committed to Notre Dame on Friday. Kmet, an Illinois native, once again visited Ohio State last weekend for the Buckeyes' game against Western Michigan, but it wasn't enough for Ohio State to secure his pledge away from the Fighting Irish.
  • Plenty of future Buckeyes shined under the lights over the weekend. Which one did enough to walk away as the MVP? The poll is open. Let your voice be heard.
