Ohio State @ Rutgers, 2/13/16, BTN

I understanding some of the negative sentiments, but I am seeing definite improvement in certain areas. Our decision making is getting better, we are starting to feed the hot payers more often (something ive been screaming for all year). There were parts of today's game where our passing was impeccable we moved the ball seamlessly, when quite frankly i haven't seen much in the form of offensive flow from this team all season. Loving played bad, but he didn't pout for once, that is actually a big deal for anyone that truly follows this team. And again just nice to see guys like Bates-Diop and Williams prove that they are indeed top tier scorers...not only were they actively seeking the ball on every single play, they also made the shots, and big ones at that! Im always proud of the Buckeyes if they put in a good effort, win or lose, but today I just feel like there were so many positives to take away, very proud of the boys. GO BUCKS!

Ultimately this is a very flawed team, NIT-bound. But there's certainly hope for the future, and plenty of talent to get us back to the Big Dance next season. Most of our difficulties result from errors in judgment rather than physical inability to execute, which tells me things will likely get a lot better as these kids mature.

Thad Matta has us Buckeye fans spoiled, which is not a bad thing.

My main concern now is turnovers. There are two issues im seeing. First is with the guard play, Harris, and more so Lyle, they are often out of control and end up making errant passes. Lyle has the tendency to pre-determine where hes passing regardless of circumstance and that has lead to many of his turnovers. He ends up trying to squeak balls into impossible spots because of that. He needs to try and slow it down a bit, use his big frame, and ultimately he needs to make better decisions on whether to pass or shoot, because so often hes passing up great scoring opportunities for himself (and he can put up 20 points in an instant, we've seen it) The other issue relating to turnovers has to do with the bigs and other players trying to do too much. A good example was from last nights game, Giddens stole the ball and ran up the court to try and score, he tried dribbling the ball through multiple defenders, and lost it just as quick as he got it, and worse yet, Rutgers went down and scored because of that. Again, he just needed to slow things down, make the RIGHT decision and likely end up with a basket from a Rutgers turnover. That's just one example, but similar incidents like that are happening at an alarming rate, and thats when i start to think what if we cleaned up those issues and had 10 less turnovers? I must say, I envision a pretty damn good team! That's what im looking forward to seeing in the remaining games this year leading into next season, can we clean up the turnovers and just show a general improvement in decision making from all players. GO BUCKS!
