Ohio State vs. Marshall, 2004

I'm afraid I must agree with Mili...fuck Marshall. They've been firing their mouths off all summer, basically acting like it's our priviledge to actually play them, like we have no tradition compared to their "storied" I-AA history. They've beaten exactly one team ranked in the AP Top 25...ever. And they're not going to win in our building...ever.

Marshall is in for a Beatdown Sundae with Asswhip Sauce.

CFN's Big Ten Predictions for this week

Marshall (+16) at Ohio State
While this is the first meeting between these two schools, Jim Tressel is not unfamiliar with Marshall, having gone 2-3 against the Thundering Herd while at Youngstown State. Don’t expect that record to go to 2-4 as the Buckeyes are 18-1 all-time versus the MAC and are carrying the nation’s longest active home winning streak: 17 games. Once again, the defense is the story in Columbus. Linebacker A.J. Hawk and DE Simon Fraser lead a defense that held Cincinnati to 238 total yards in the opener. They will have to continue to be the Buckeyes’ bellwether while they search for some stability at quarterback. Ballyhooed prospect Justin Zwick struggled in his debut, throwing 2 picks and fumbling four times. Back-up Troy Smith led two scoring drives last week and is expected to see some snaps as well. The emergence of Lydell Ross also helps. Ross scampered for 141 yards against the Bearcats, as the Buckeyes ran for 220 yards, their highest output since 2002. Marshall heads to the Horseshoe having lost its home opener for the first time since 1983. Ten defensive starters return from a defense that was tops in the MAC in 2003. However, even that cannot overcome the 177 yards of total offense it accumulated against Troy state, which was the Herd’s lowest total since 1989. Coach Bob Pruett is 88-18 since taking over at Marshall in 1996, but he is staring down a possible 0-4 start as Georgia and perennial MAC power Miami (Ohio) loom on the horizon.

Brad: Two things are constant in this world: the sun will rise in the east and Ohio State will win with a dominant defense. Zwick is too talented to struggle for too long, but look for Tressel to keep it simple once again and let his defense do the heavy lifting. Ohio State 24, Marshall 13.

Tom: If Zwick continues to struggle, Tressel will not hesitate to take a longer look at Smith. But the once potent Marshall offense will struggle to penetrate the Buckeye defenders. Ohio State 27, Marshall 9.

Prediction

Yeah I just don't think that TROY'S defense is as FAST, PHYSICAL, or even as SMART as our defense. Therefore I think Marshall is in for one hell of a ride tomorrow as I think that not only will our offense start to get on track but we get rolling also OSU 35, Marshall-0

In one of the most absurd posts of all time, a Marshall FAN states that

Tressel sent Arden to WVa to get players suspended, "TO LEVEL THE FIELD"

this is one of most idiotic posts ever seen.

Based mostly on this, but also on the shit that I have seen posted for the last three years about how LUCKT OSU is that we have never had to play Marshall,
I will enjoy the ass whuppin the TURDS receive tomorrow.

Still, they will say we were lucky to catch them in an off year.

"Fools rush in where angels fear to tread."

Let Marshall have their 15 minutes in the sun tomorrow. By the third quarter the herd will slowly start to slide out the south end of the stadium on their premature return home...having tasted the reality of being in never-never land.

I believe during the Miami/FSU game Brent said they were going to be doing the Clemson game today. I know Terry Bowden is one of the announcers for the Buckeye game but I'm not sure who he's paired with.
