Game Thread Ohio State vs Michigan State - 10/05/19, 7:30PM (ABC)

Too early to tell if its systemic, or if he is still adapting to our offense. There is certainly some inconsistency, because he looks amazing at times. And I can't see what he is seeing, maybe he is avoiding throwing some interceptions for all I know without the benefit of some Sunday film. Maybe its a little bit of both. I just think with our receiving corps, he's gotta be missing some reads. In any event, pretty happy with his play as we near near the halfway point of this year and he is only going to get better imo.

He's a typical young QB, so he panics a bit if the first look isn't open. Defers to his athleticism when he panics. This results in either jaw dropping plays, or spinning around going backwards and losing 15 yards. If they can get him to start climbing the pocket like Haskins did so well during the second half of last season, then look out.

This is a good win. I am disappointed in the second half performance. I think we should have done better.
Defense gives up no points in the 2nd half. Offense scores to increase the lead, doesn't do anything to put the defense in a bad position, allows starting RB to rest, controls the LOS, keeps the game totally under control, and the officials take away a TD because Browning touched a guy barely harder than blowing him a kiss. This is real life against a good team, not a video game.

Fields looked damn good once he got going.
I do not get how Georgia let him go. Or better said chose Fromm.
As a MSU fan that game went about as I expected. If MSU offense was better maybe the defense doesn't wear down. But the fact is maybe it was just OSU adjusting and crushing. Which is what I thought happened.
If MSU has everything go its way that game is still a 10-14 point loss. Was impressed with OSU in all phases.

As I said in another post, anything short of playoffs should be a disappointing season based on the rest of their schedule and the teams abilities. I don't see how Wisky can hang with OSU speed and talent. And I think we will all have a better idea about Wisky have the game this weekend against MSU. If MSU is able to put the defense back together after that physical beating they should be a good test for Wisky. I have not watched them enough to know if they can bring out a speed game if the run game is slowed down. All highlights are of Taylor running wild.

The competition a for the starting QB position at Georgia in 2018 was between a Sophomore (i.e. Fromm) that lead them to the CFP Championship game in 2017 only losing to Alabama 26-23 in OT and a true Freshman (i.e. Fields). It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Fromm beat out Fields.
