Wondered that myself.I think I missed it, why are they playing at MSG?
On Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, Madison Square Garden will host an incredible day of Big Ten action. In the third annual Big Ten “Super Saturday – College Hoops & Hockey” doubleheader, Ohio State and Minnesota will tip off on the hardwood, while Minnesota and Michigan State face off in hockey!
The basketball teams will start the day off with a noon tip, and the hockey teams will continue the excitement by facing off at 8 p.m.
Haven't researched it but my guess is one school had to lose a conference home game to play there, and having that school being the only one involved in both ends of the double dip may attract more of their fans proportionally. At least that is the logic I am attaching to it.The thing I don't understand is, if they are going to do a double header with a hockey game why didn't they do OSU vs. Minn in hockey too?
Luke Witte. Fred Taylor.
To hell with Minnesota basketball forever.
Wow. Friday morning brain dead.Huh? We played at Northwestern after Rutgers.
After this game Saturday we head back home for a game against a surging Nebraska team on Monday.
Incredibly tricky stretch of lots of travel and short turn-arounds.
