Ohio State vs. Oregon rematch in National Championship?

Was wondering what you guys think of a possible rematch next year... we return 20 of 22 starters, and hopefully Masoli can improve in the off-season. I like our schedule next year with the exception of road games at USC and Tennessee which will be tough places to go.

How do you guys feel about your chances of going undefeated this next season? It looked like Pryor finally had his breakout game in the Rose Bowl, and if he can maintain that level of play next season you guys will be extremely hard to beat.

The usual suspects like Florida and Texas will have new QB's and lose a bunch of starters, Alabama will be good of course, but I heard they're losing a lot of their talented players.

I can see one of us or Oregon in the national championship game, but I've gotta think an SEC team would be the other team in it. Probably more likely to see a rematch in the Rose Bowl rather than the championship game, in my opinion.

An early pick of course, but if I were to foresee another SEC team in the title game next year, I'd say it would most likely be Georgia.

From your lips to God's ears my friend - but I personally think we're 2-3 years away. 10 of 11 starters return on offense but we'll be breaking in a first year QB (again).

New defense to learn (3-4) and loss of 2 DT's, a LB, a safety, and a corner seems to point to us not getting out of the league with less than 2 losses.

2010 Georgia Bulldogs Football Schedule - UGA

Easier schedule to be sure - but I just don't think we're there yet. I think LSU is a better bet.

I think there is a good chance of it. Unless the Rose Bowl game was an anomaly for Pryor, we should go undefeated next year....I can't forsee any in-conference opponents being too tough to beat. Iowa and Miami will be threats, but I don't think they are any where as good as Oregon was in the RB.

Likewise, Oregon should do well against Lame Kiffin's USC Condoms and other in-conference rubbish. Like it has been said, the Civil War will be Oregon's biggest challenge.

A rematch would be neat. I work for a company formerly based out of Eugene, and I gave them a LOT of grief over the RB win by OSU. They were shocked when I told them our stores were selling roasted duck the day of the game =)

It could happen but I wouldn't lay money on it. Way too many games to be played between then and now. Who thought we would lose to Purdue? Crazy upsets happen, for all we know it could have been BSU or TCU in the MNC games if the teams from power conferences all drop a couple of games except for us like 2007.

No one thought we would lose to Purdue, but no one thought we would be that atrocious on offense... I think Pryor has passed that point in his career, and with a boat load of talent at WR and RB, along with a young but veteren line... I like our chances to run the table. Should be a fun year for Buckeye fans though!

Yeah I'm not gonna lie... I did not see that offense coming in the Rose Bowl. No way did I think Pryor would be that efficient as a passer and be so clutch. I expected the great defense, but I didn't expect Pryor to lead Ohio State on these long, suffocating 8 minute drives. We literally never had the ball, it was terrible. Tressel executed the game plan perfectly.

1. Except for USC I don't think the Pac 10 gets much a)coverage b) respect c) poll power (a + b = c)

2. From my point of view your schedule is gonna bite you in the tail feathers; at Tennessee, at Berzerkley, at USC, at the other OSU and a September trip to the desert -- when it's going to be hotter than hell -- to play ASU.

3. Even with one loss I think the SEC champ gets in because of a + b = c.

If'n the bucks don't have another Purdue type fiasco, where the whole team experiences a peyote fest on game day, and if they put some numbers up on Miami (a team the 'a' folks seem to want to love) Ohio State should be no worse than 12 and 1. Iowa at Iowa worries me and Michigan will play way over their heads, especially if the Bucks are undefeated.

I can't comment on this cause I'm "inside the bubble" and I obviously get different media coverage than almost everyone. But you could be right!

It does seem like the program as a whole, does the best when little to nothing is expected of it. 02 and 05 were surprise seasons since nobody picked us to win the league. 07 snuck up on everyone and finishing #2 in the country was a big shock for us too.

We'll see. I just don't like the prospect of a 1st year starter at QB. 9-10 wins. Tops.
