Ohio State and the Scarlet Knights are meeting for just the third time in history and in just the second game as members of the Big Ten Conference. Rutgers joined the Big Ten in 2014-15 after one season in the American Athletic Conference (2013-14) and 18 years in the Big East (1996-2013). The first meeting between the Buckeyes and Scarlet Knights was a 97-96 Rutgers win at Madison Square Garden Dec. 30, 1978 in the ECAC Holiday Tournament. The Buckeyes evened the series at one game apiece a season ago in Piscataway. Ohio State won that game 79-60 Feb. 8, 2015.

    Last Time vs. Rutgers
Ohio State freshman D'Angelo Russell recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds in Ohio State's 79-60 victory over Rutgers on the road Feb. 8, 2015 in Piscataway, N.J. Russell played 35 minutes, was 8 of 13 from the field, had one steal and two turnovers handling the ball most of the game. Jae'San Tate added 20 points and Keita Bates-Diop had 14 to help the Buckeyes to their fourth time in five games. Bishop Daniels had a season-high 17 points for the Scarlet Knights, and Junior Etou added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ohio State never trailed, built a 21-point lead in the first half and extended it to 25 early in the second with Russell, Tate and Bates-Diop doing most of the damage.

Pretty much a must win, loss here would be crippling

Rutgers is AWFUL 6-11 coming off a 90-56 loss to Nebraska....best win is Fairleigh Dickinson who is 257th in Kenpoms rankings

Getting out rebounded so far, 10-7. These guys got killed on the boards at Nebraska. Come on, Bucks.

    Mike80 I speeka da eennggglieesshhhh

Definite lack of energy on the defensive end. Rutgers is getting into the lane at will for kick-out 3s....

If Rutgers was better at basketball this game wouldn't be very close right now in my IMO...

A lot of defense in hoops comes down to effort. Bucks need to crank it up on that end.

Not sure if our boys are dejected from Indiana, overconfident, or both, but if they don't pick it up they're really going to be disappointed later tonight.
