The O Line room is about to change IMO. I hope Kelly can find the mix he wants. But all the cards are being reshuffled and maybe there is a spring OL transfer?

We should treat it that way after last season, though they started playing better if you throw out the bowl game where the coaches experimented pretty much across the board and it looked awful. Simmons is supposedly having a great offseason and has all the tools to be a great LT if he eliminates mental errors and is more comfortable with the playbook. Jackson is an elite LG if he doesn't have to babysit the LT and C like last year, which he shouldn't have to do. McLaughlin obviously comes with the concerns of getting his snaps down, but if he does he is a physical center with tons of experience at the highest level. RG I hope is Fryar, he has the ability to be special but he just isn't an OT. At RT, I am hoping Montgomery is ready to step in, all the talent in the world and coming around physically.
That's my ideal starting 5, but if someone else steps up then great...we just need to be a helluva lot better at OL than last season. Figure it out Frye and Kelly.

Definitely a players coach, can see why the guys like him. I like his attitude to the freshman, “ever done this before? No? So relaaaax.”

Offensive line coach Justin Frye’s salary was bumped up to $1 million in 2023, but the contract distributed by Ohio State on Friday does not include any mention of that increase. Frye, the only assistant whose contract is set to end after this season, would make a base salary of $800,000 under the terms of his original contract.
