Love the way your thinking!! But you left out our 5 star number 1 rated center Mike Brewster already..... Poor guy was our cornerstone

Geez there is just so many......Marcus Hall, Justin Boren, Chris Watt (hopefully)...Amazing

:2004: D'oh! Ok, an even bigger line would be Adams, Smith, Brewster, Mewhort, and Shugarts. Every single one of them is at least 6'5" and around 300 lbs.

With Mewhort's size, frame, and technique, I don't know if it is out of the question for some early PT when he comes here. We lose Mitchum, Person, and Rehring this year, plus Cordle will be a senior when he comes in. Regardless of playing guard or center, interior OL will be open for some serious PT when Jack gets here.

Not to sidetrack this too much, but with Boren, Connor Smith, Brewster, Blankenship and possibly Browning sliding down, there will be plenty of competition for those inside spots.

Mewhort looks great though, and adds depth to an already deep and talented line.

Browning is staying put at RT imo. I just had thought of Boren after I posted that but I think he still gets PT. Boren and Smith will start imo (which is awesome, my dream interior OL from '06) but Blankenship is unproven. Beyond that, your always an injury away (lord forbid of course) from playing when you barely have a two deep. If you look at it this way, including guard and center, Mewhort just needs to compete with Linsley and whoever else we get in '09 for PT in the two deep:
OG: Boren (jr.), Smith (jr.), Blankenship (so.)
C: Cordle (sr.), Brewster (so.)

St. John's lineman up for U.S. Army All-American Bowl
Posted: Friday, May 09, 2008

TOLEDO -- Some of the best athletes in our area are seen every week on the Friday Night Frenzy. One of them may soon be an All-American.

St. John's linemand Jack Mewhort was given official notice by the United States Army that he is among the top seniors in the country being considered for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl to be played in January 2009.

The official word won't come until later this year, but Mewhort still considers himself lucky.

In talking to one of Jack's class mates today, he has a great sense of humor, "very funny" according to my HS student source. He also said he was a very good student. Great to have another Toledo kid on the roster next year.

Mewhort looks like a monster...He is a solid 6'5''...He is just as big as if not bigger than Shugarts...

I think that he is an inside guy, but I wouldn't rule out RT...He had a couple battles with the kid from Indiana Jordan Stepp, and while it is a defensive drill, he held his own, and showed his strength...

No way is he not a top 15 player in the state either...I have him in the top 10 somewhere and 2nd best lineman in the state...

FWIW, Shugarts measured in at 6'7.5" 285 lbs at the junior army all-american combine and Mewhort measured in at 6'6" 292 lbs at a rivals 5 star academy.

Shugarts is not 6'7'' JMHO...Have seen him multiple times in person on Campus...

Boone is a legit 6'8'' and so is Adams, maybe more 6'7.5...

BTW Hall is probably a legit 6'3''...Mewhort 6'5'' 6'5.5...

I am just saying thick really...Shugarts might have an inch on him...

Adams also measured in at 6'7.5" at the junior army combine.

Hall measured in at 6'5" at this year's junior army combine.

EDIT- Thought I'd provide links. Also, Hall's measurements were from the same year as Adams and Shugarts so he was only a sophomore when he measured in at 6'5" 294 lbs, same as Brewster.

'07 Army- Scout.com: Football Recruiting

Rivals- Mike Adams Profile - Football Recruiting (Adams, 6'7" 308 lbs)
J.B. Shugarts - Football Recruiting (Shugarts, 6'8" 299 lbs)
Jack Mewhort - Football Recruiting (Mewhort, 6'6" 292 lbs)

I doubt all these measurements are 100% accurate but still.

Yeah, he's a Johnny right? Good school back when I used to live in NWO.

And heck yeah, great to have another Toledo kid on the roster!

To T-town!

By Gary...talks about why he has been competing at the combines despite the fact he has already verbaled to his school of choice. Also talks about why he made such an early decision.
