Noticed they said he was a senior in Buckskin's article. He is still considered a junior isn't he?

Athletically: Junior

Academically: Senior, maybe that's what they were referring to.

So yes, he has another year after this to play if he so chooses.

Not sure if this had been mentioned, but Boren's last on field action was the win against Florida in the Capitol One Bowl. Played against all of those seniors that are playing for Florida's defense this year.

ESPN just reported that Justin Boren sprained his MCL and will be out for 3 weeks.

I hope that doesn't mean that it'll stretch out longer and not be able to suit up and play against USC (aka Beanie Wells' situation).

Boren out with knee injury
My colleague Tim May and I have learned that starting left guard Justin Boren injured a knee in practice today and is expected to be sidelined several weeks.

No other details are available, except that this is not considered serious: i.e., an ACL tear or something that would keep Boren out for an extended time.

Remember, injuries "affect" a player differently depending on the time of year, if you know what I mean....

Nothing new but it does give an indication that the injury should not be as serious as a knee injury sounds.

I believe Nate's referring to ESPN's afternoon show that reportedly said that Boren was out for the entire season. I saw that posted on some scUM boards as well. Hope its not true. I do rejoice at the fact that it is ESPN...

I saw the report on ESPN's afternoon show (College Football Live) and my heart was in my throat for a split second.

They started with "The Buckeye lose Justin Boren." or something to that effect. Only later did they explain that it was for 2-3 weeks. When I saw that, I immediately thought that somebody would have failed to listen carefully and would be on a message-board with a false report within seconds. It's good to see they didn't let me down.

Guard Justin Boren was in shorts and shoulder pads. He was wearing a sleeve on his right knee and he was doing some rehab stuff on the sideline. He seemed to be walking around fine and I have a feeling he WILL play against Navy, but maybe not more than a few series.

Summer practice thread said he was doing resistance running. Good sign if they trust the knee to put pressure on it. And only the equivalent of an ace bandage.
