OL Patrick Elflein (National Champion, 2017 PFWA All-Rookie Team, Arizona Cardinals)

Just looking back on the NCG and I had to reflect on when we got a verbal from some undersized kid from Pickerington with no offers to speak of at a time where things looked pretty gloom. Fast forward to a time where I watch him absolutely destroy everything in his path and he might be a 1st time AA...makes following recruiting pretty fun I think. Damn proud of Pat.

Coaches, particularly Meyer & Co., sometimes have a knack for seeing things no one else can. Damn geniuses, one and all. :urban2:

On the other hand, quite a few of the players who came to OSU at that time did not make it in the program, so even better for a kid like Elflein for not only making it, but excelling.

I remember being surprised when Elflein came in to replace Marcus Hall after he got the boot in The Game, but when that happened you knew he was going to be a starter the next year and likely a very solid lineman.

Biggest problem I see...
Elfein's legs are ginormous... no idea how he thinks he can snap a ball between them
but one thing I have zero doubt.. ain't NOBODY bulldozing the middle
