Ole Miss Rebels (official thread)

Ole Miss Paints End Zones in Honor of Manning Family Ahead of Eli Jersey Retirement

Ole Miss is welcoming home one of its greatest players in program history.

On Saturday, Eli Manning will become only the third Rebels player to have his jersey number retired, joining his father, Archie (18), and Chucky Mullins (38). Ole Miss is set to face LSU at 2:30 p.m. CT.

The four-year letterwinner won the 2003 Maxwell Award and set or tied 47 Rebels single‑game, season and career records during his time in Oxford. Manning went on the be the highest pick in school history—No. 1 in the 2004 NFL Draft. Archie was selected No. 2 by the New Orleans Saints in 1971.

To make things a little sweeter, famed nephew and five-star quarterback recruit Arch Manning will be in attendance for a recruiting visit. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound junior has thrown for 17 touchdowns, one interception and 1,186 yards so far this year , according to MaxPreps.

how the fuck you lose this one?

See quarterback prospect Arch Manning sign autographs for fans at Ole Miss, LSU football

One of the items Arch Manning signed was a ballcap. Arch Manning was wearing shorts, a horizontally striped polo shirt, and a ballcap that said "Ole Miss" in light blue.

Ya think LSU now got eliminated from the Arch Manning sweepstakes in losing to Ole Miss (if they were ever realistically in it)?

Actually I saw some article where they think Alabama, Georgia, and Texas are currently the "leaders" so far in Arch Manning's recruitment. Regardless, it would be kind of cool if he went to Ole Miss and eventually did got to be the 3rd generation Manning to have his number retired....

Their natural born kids made coin off that movie while he made nothing. There's an inner circle of hell waiting for the Tuoheys. Pure scum.

Even in the poster, it's all about the benevolent white woman. Only Sandra Bullock has a name. Doesn't even get a name on the jersey.

I was always under the impression that the names that get top billing are all driven by the actors contracts with the studio? I notice Kathy Bates is well below the line as well. Point being it's probably wasn't a bias/racial thing even though it seems that way now in hindsight.

Who knows though?

I just find it apropos. Obviously she's the headliner an A-list.
Neither the actor nor the subject get a name on the poster. It wasn't necessary to shell out for a big name celebrity for the movie, because it's actually all about the White Savior.
