I'd love to see where this head-turn occurred.

One final real thought before I resume my shit-posting....God DAMN did Oregon play a great game on offense. A couple drops and a few penalties, but other than that? Nearly perfect. Not one pass even close to being intercepted. Not one fumble. They didn't get cute and abandon what was working. They didn't over think things. Heck of a gameplan and heck of a game.
You are correct. Same as Bama and nearly the same for Minnesota in terrible weather. That's 3 straight games we let a team on the other side get so comfortable with what they were doing they just did it brilliantly and kicked our ass. I've had enough of that shit and I know I'm not alone

Overreactions from Austin (some possibly not):

Here’s the way I see it.

I think we’re about to find out how good Day wants to be.

Offense - red zone has to improve. Its clear Day knows what he wants to do between the 20s but inside the 20s things MUST improve, the OL and the run game MUST improve… This is not on Stroud this is on the play caller

Defense - its clear whatever isn’t working at all levels of the system, from DL to Safeties… does he have a little Saban in him or not is the question. I struggle to say Coomb’s homecoming has been anything other than a disappointment. I dont know how you dont change SOMETHING on Defense..

Day needs to move into being a true head coach … not an OC that is a HC … his play calling duties might be limiting his ability to fix the D… i dont know but my god this level of defensive ineptitude has to stop.

Oh, no fucking doubt. The OSU defense did nothing to make it hard for Oregon or Bama. And even when they saw the success the opponent was having, still....nothing really changed.

So because this one is more fresh but not be quite as exploitable going against a good Tulsa offense.

Remember losing to Purdue in 2018? Schiano and Grinch hit the media with the Ol' "back to fundamentals, we'll simply things, really work on it". We went on to soundly beat a talent devoid Sparty just after.
Many people, including posters on this board, had perhaps gotten a bit too short sighted in their belief that things would be fixed overnight.

Well... nothing was fixed that season. If it wasn't for a prolific QB and receivers, that team would have probably dropped 2-3 more games including The Game.
What I'm saying is, I'm seeing the same things here. Alignment and leverage problems, zone/match pass-offs, predictable calls, poor technique.... Things good coaches with focused and disciplined defenses simply don't do.

Heard the excuses with Bollman.
Heard the excuses with Davis.
Heard the excuses with Whithers.
Heard the excuses with Schiano and Grinch.

There is no reason or evidence to believe there will be a significant turnaround under this current defensive coaching staff. I'm not Buckeye bashing. Coombs is energetic, fun, a quality position coach and solid recruiter.
He is WAY over his head in his current role. If the Buckeyes have any hope of fixing things for this season, growing from this game and going on to whoop TTUN ass, then they (Day) had best bite the bullet now.

Because if I hear another presser similar to the one after Purdue in 2018, I'm going to lose my mind and wonder if I'm actually caught in a time loop.

I shouldn't be seeing gap-exchange issues at the most football101 level like this at a flagship D1 university with elite coaches and future NFL players. Not a god damn chance.

Getting some serious Larry Coker circa 2001 vibes from Ryan Day. Hope I’m wrong, but… he just doesn’t. Get. It.
Seriously? He's lost 3 games since becoming Head Coach. One to Clemson in the playoff with some questionable officiating and one to a generationally great Bama team that nobody was going to beat. This is his first regular season loss. Coker comparisons are ridiculous. My only issue would be his choice of Defensive staff.
