do you guys think this duck team is better than what u played in the rose bowl and if u played them again do u think the result would be the same?

I think that they are pretty much the same team as last year. They had a high powered offense leading up to the Rose Bowl and everyone was talking how bad the were going to beat the slow, plodding Big Ten team.

So, to directly answer your question: No, they are no better than they were last year, and yes the Rose Bowl results would be the same.

Ive been thinking about this and while I think we would beat them I would have some concerns. In the Rose Bowl our depth at D line really helped to keep guys fresh I just remember they really didnt know what to do with the amount of large athletic guys we threw at them. Doug Worthington comes to mind.

I think it's not better, but I am not sure that our defense is as good, with depth issues on the DL as mentioned, and the injury situation in the secondary. As a result, I think a rematch would be a closer game.

I don't see the improvement in the Duck defense, and that's their main deficiency. I do think Thomas might be a bit more effective as a passer then Massoli, but I'd be damn curious to see what a defense like ours would do against them this year. DL depth might come into play. Plus our secondary isn't anywhere near as consistent as last year.

Our offense is better and more cohesive than the one from the Rose Bowl, however our defense doesn't seem to be ready to dominate a good offensive squad as they were last season. It would be an interesting matchup. I don't think they could stop us from scoring though, so I would have to side with OSU if they were to play again.

That's a pretty bold statement considering the changes we have had in the secondary. I'm not so sure we could hang this year.

Exactly. They aren't better, but we are different in the secondary. That makes a huge difference against a team like Oregon.

I think Oregon is clearly better this year than they were last year. Last year they started horribly at Boise, struggled with Purdue and Utah before laying the wood to Cal. They had some impressive games last year but they a bit inconsistent too. The ASU game this year was the only one I saw were they didn't seem to be hitting on all cylinders and they still scored 41 points. A rematch would be interesting.
