Oregon RB Jonathan "Snoop" Stewart (official thread)

I wouldn't read too much into the fact he didn't mention Ohio State other than to say he recently received an offer. The guy who wrote the article called to see if he committed to WSU. He said no but he was visiting there. The writer asked if Miami had been in contact. He said no. Stewart made no mention of any other school and the ones he talked about were brought up by the writer. While I wonder how good our chances really are with him, just because of location, I don't think this article means much. Getting him in for a visit would be a step in the right direction.

THAT could be a real threat

Location has been specifically asked of him before... and he unequivocally said it was not a problem.. and from memory, every time the topic came up... so did his mention of OSU...

Recruits say location doesn't matter all the time. The further away a recruit lives the more difficult it is to land them. I'm not sure that's open for debate. I'm more hopeful we can land a kid like Gwaltney, who has mentioned Ohio State could sway him from his West Virginia verbal. The kid is big, is putting up huge numbers and gets basically no attention on this board.

Not really sure why, but I don't like our chances here. Everybody's been really optimistic about us getting Stewart, but I wonder if that's just a scarlet dream. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get him here, but it just doesn't seem to me like the odds are in our favor right now.

If we offer Stewart, he'll commit within weeks of the offer.
Do you still think this will happen? I sure hope your right Mililani. With Jonathans' apparent running style and the upcoming O-line and with some of the speculative changes coming ... WOW.

p.s. I am not that worried about Jonathan becoming USC's #1 RB, Reggie Bush, and Lendale White are only soph's and would be cutting into Jonathans' playtime alot.

Slik don't hold your breath DUane and Helwagen are usually 2 weeks behind on info we already know here. I read their chat transcripts and can usually answer the recruiting questions better than Helwagen. This site is 5 times better than BSB or Lamenuts.

It sure seemed like he was waiting on pins and needles for an OSU offer and seemed to always list us first when mentioning favorites...
