Orioles 2012 thread of pain and despair....

So.....

After taking 2 out of 3 from the Skankees (and they had the lead in the 7th yesterday and lost it), they went 8-4 over the 13 games with one game postponed due to rain.

They may not make it, but dammit this is fun :banger:

2 GB of the Yankees in the EAST

1.5 Ahead of Tampa for the 2nd Wild Card

1.5 GB Oakland for the first Wild Card

The next 13 aren't really any easier:

3 @ Toronto

4 vs NYY

3 vs Tampa

3 @ Oakland

I think even though the previous 13 were critical to getting into September on a good note, these 13 games will ultimately decide their fate, they are playing the leaders in the EAST and the two teams close to them in the Wild Card.

My guess is they will go somewhere from 5-8 to 7-6 in this span.

And still tied on September 12th.

Particularly incredible considering they have been outscored by 22 runs this season. :yow1:

Two weeks ago they had been outscored by 46 runs.

that's what happens when you win a bunch of one-run games (they are something absurd like 28-1 in one-run games) and get blown out every once in a while.

So far....5-3 and tied for first still and two games up on Tampa for the 2nd Wild Card (I don't think they are going to catch Oakland)...

After the 3 games with Oakland - they finish with 3 @Seattle, 3@Boston, 4 vs Toronto, 3 vs Boston and 3 @ Tampa. Should be interesting.

25-7 in 1-run games.....54-55 in all other games.

If they lose this game the collapse will start...

They won it in 14.

They are now 81-62. A .500 season is assured on a team that featured basically one or two players of note (Adam Jones and Nick Markakis), a supposedly very weak rotation and question marks everywhere else except at closer.

The Mayans were right. The world is gonna end.
