OSU vs. Michigan in Concert & a Fundraiser for Clarity

Deety

Head Coach
Dear BuckeyePlanet members,

For those of you who have ever enjoyed a highlight video, misted up while singing Carmen Ohio after a great game, cheered TBDBITL, or enjoyed the great tradition of Ohio State and the greatest rivalry in sports, do we have a treat for you!

The Columbus Symphony will be presenting a musical tribute to The Game, complete with a Tailgate Party, on Thursday, November 16. Whether you're a regular symphony attendee or have never set foot in a concert hall before, you'll love this rousing tribute to the tradition that is The Game featuring highlight videos and celebration of some of the greatest moments in OSU history. Special appearances by the OSU cheerleaders, Men's Glee Club, and Pep Band make this a concert fit for all Buckeye fans!

BuckeyePlanet members will also have the opportunity to become part of the performance by contributing fan pics, some of which will appear in video during the concert. :)

BuckeyePlanet has made special arrangements with the Columbus Symphony to give back to our community in the way that means the most to us.

As most of you know, Clarity (Will Bryant), owner of BuckeyePlanet, has for years now faced a host of nearly totally debilitating medical issues. Circumstances beyond his control left him without the medical insurance necessary to test, diagnose, and ultimately treat these ailments. As a community, BP has pulled together to help with expenses. (Click here for more about past BP fundraising efforts and Clarity's situation.) One Buckeye down, all Buckeyes down.

It was with great relief and joy that we learned of the recent court decision granting Clarity access to medical insurance by the end of this year. However, soon is not now, and the years-long delay in this crucial step have led to unavoidable financial difficulties. So, here is another opportunity for BP to help set things right for a fellow Buckeye.

The Columbus Symphony has created a web page and phone code especially for BP members. When you purchase tickets through www.columbussymphony.com/buckeyeplanetoffer or by using the code BPSE2 at (614)228-8600, 25% of the price of your concert tickets will be returned to assist Clarity with expenses incurred as a result of his medical situation.

Here is your opportunity to help a fellow Buckeye by enjoying an evening celebrating the rich tradition of Ohio State and The Game!

If you would like to contribute your fan pictures for possible inclusion in the concert video, please email them to [email protected] and I'll forward them to the conductor. Everyone with pictures of their kids or pets as avatars MUST participate.

Keep in mind that pictures will be displayed on a large screen, so the resolution has to be pretty good, though print quality isn't necessary. You must also have the rights to the photos, and by sending them, you are agreeing to donote their use for the concert video.

Thanks and Go Bucks! :)

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for all the help so far. I'm the conductor for the concert in Columbus. The video/photo images are shaping up nicely, but I've still got noticable omissions, particularly in the area of fan images. I want to tip my hat, so to speak, to Neutron Man, but right now, I've only got a short, distant video of him BEHIND other fans. Any help with this or anything else would be greatly appreciated... and aknowledged in the concert. :) Go Bucks!

Hey n00b.

It's all stickman's fault that I became a Buckeye fan in the first place. (Go on, ding him. ) So this is a treat - a chance for BP to give a little back to Clarity for all he's done for us, and provide an opportunity for people to get together for an event I know will rock. Scott has a habit of putting together events that blast people's ideas of what a symphony concert is right out of the water. Just wait...

By the way, you get full "arts enrichment for the kids" or "date night" bonus points for this event, even though it's all about the football.

Sounds great and am disappointed as I have a work conflict that night. Hope you all have a wonderful time.
By the way, you're looking a little pale. I think you're coming down with something. It looks like you're certain to be quite ill on... say... November 16th...
