Peach Bowl: #1 Georgia vs #4 tOSU, Sat 12/31 8 ET on ESPN

Couple things I'd like to tack on with what you're saying!

1. Agreed they're similar to Michigan on offense. I don't think their OL is as good though and I don't think their running concepts are as complex. Unlike Michigan i don't think we'll have to sell out as hard to stop their run.

2. Where they're different is at TE. Two very special players and they're a bad matchup for anyone not named Sonny Styles I think. IMO it's a mistake to play a ton of man in this game because there's not many "men" who can match up with these TEs. Also the advantage of having eyes in the backfield is huge. Not to mention we were gashed running man vs Michigan.

1. Agreed completely, even without Corum *ichigan has a sound run scheme. Not saying Georgia can't run the ball on us, but I agree we won't focus on that solely this game and it should help.

2. We can take them out of the game I think with our safeties, but the boundary corners I'm worried about no matter who we play now. I had hope we'd improve there, but not confident at all after we've failed to improve there. But hopefully our pass defense scheme improves by a million because that's the million pound gorilla in the room. I think the talent is there but I'm not really sure what to do when our guys are right there, but just don't make the play.

Bright side is I think Michigan has better WRs... this is a pretty deficient offense from Georgia when it comes to their downfield attempts. They get a ton of production from their TEs and IMO that's the key to them.. their TEs at least make it easier to focus on the 5-7 window from the LOS.

Is your cousin Coach Kirby Smart?

I shudder to think what practice is going to be like for the secondary over the next month. 500 yards and 30 points is unacceptable and Kirby essentially coaches the secondary. They are going to get their asses cooked by the top Dawg.
Nope, not Kirby  He's part of admin
And yeah, it won't be many fun practices for the secondary

Bowers will be downfield and running after catches on the short ones. Cannot give him breathing room. Ẅashington will be closer to normal TE depths but fucking trucking people at 265. It's not a great situation but it is probably better than a LB on Devonte Smith

I think Knowles sold out to stop the run against scUM, and the CBs couldn't tackle in space. I doubt he makes that mistake again and leaves these CBs in man coverage. We'll still probably allow 3-5 big plays, but hopefully they're more long 1st downs and not TDs. But the CBs need help, but that means the DL and LBs will have more pressure on them against the run as opposed to bringing multiple S up to help

I'm ok with this - run fits have been mostly better this year.

The biggest thing for the coaching staff is to NOT over-think things like they did against scUM and keep it as fast and simple as possible.

I was talking to my cousin who works in the UGA Athletic Department(and was actually the Asst AD for sometime), and in his words "I'm worried about our defense, not consistent enough in the secondary. And the staff is seriously worried about Stroud and WRs". I kept saying that they demolished LSU in the SECCG, and dominated most teams with their defense. And he kept saying, they have holes in the defense backfield that can be exploited, and their offense isn't balanced enough. But he didn't go far enough to pick OSU to upset UGA. Still said UGA would win by same margin as scUM if the OSU coaches didn't learn their lesson. Which he believes they won't, and that will be their undoing. TIFWIW, but just passing on some info from inside the UGA athletic department

appreciate the intel.

I bet any coach who puts on OSU tape would be terrified of OSU's skill, particularly at QB and WR, but in this game..... Can the DE's set a consistent edge, can the DB's get a WR or RB down to the ground on the perimeter or in space, and can the corners/safeties maintain good eye disipline, not get burned in single coverage when we bring pressure? If they can do those things consistently, Buckeyes have a shot.

I agree that UGA is more one-dimensional than ttun on offense. But also better on defense. But the defense should be able to hold their own, no reason they shouldn't.

We need a 100% healthy Miyan for the playoffs. As well as 100% healthy Matt Jones and Luke Wypler. We need to be able to run the ball effectively. But it might be let the pass set up the run. Hopefully we will also have a 100% healthy Egbuka. Being healthy coming into the semi game is paramount to give us a shot to win.
They will not be 100%.

IMO, Hayden can do everything Williams. Play Williams if he's healthy enough, but I believe that with proper blocking Hayden and Trayanum can also get the job done, with a sprinkle of Johnson in there.
