Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Come on, you know the answer...
I honestly don't know, sometimes the cult completely rejects reality outright, and sometimes they come up with alternate fantasy scenarios in place of reality.

For instance, the dozens of players breaking laws explained away because they weren't baptized in the radiant glow of Paterno's presence versus it just didn't happen at all.

I've been having the "what could have been" and "if only" thoughts watching Ohio State. Meyer was likely coming here until the scandal. Just imagine that if this whole thing never broke, that could've been Penn State out there last night. I know there are some here who dont like him, but the guy has only lost twice in three years there, with an undefeated season under his belt and playing for it all this year. Is anyone else tormented by knowing how close we could've been to being back to elite again?

Math degree from State Penn...

Michigan State, Clemson, Virginia Tech = 2 losses?

I'm going to add my own bold to your quote:

Just imagine that if this whole thing never broke,

So the whole thing stems from the incompetent jerks who couldn't keep the whole thing covered up.

How telling is that statement re their true character and mindset.

'Cause, ya' know, what I'd be inclined to wish would be more like: Just imagine if this whole thing never happened in the first place.

Choosing between having innocent, already disadvantaged children burdened with abuse they have to deal with for the rest of their lives, and never having had it happen to them at all, I know which choice immediately springs into my heart.

They are the true victims. It's not hyperbole or parody to present them that way. It's a realistic appraisal of how they view themselves. After all, the "victims" all got rich while they--and most importantly Joe, the Paternos and the lettermen in that order--have had to endure a living hell.

I'm re-watching the Sugar Bowl now. I just passed the part where Meyer threw his headset (no roughing the punter penalty). I read on BWI a few days ago (I didn't save a link) about how it shows what a goober Urban Meyer is that he threw his headset. I thought at the time (though I didn't post it) that I wonder how they rationalize chasing down the officials when the game is over.

Officials were corrupt and cheating his saintly lettermen who were all majoring in quantum dynamics. Joesus was sacrificing not only to protect these dedemt young scholar-athletes but for all of college football to bequeath us instant replay as if divinely delivered from the cross by his tears.

Does anyone know how the cult explains away this in their 'Success with Honor' narrative (just kids that couldn't be ushered off to branch campuses fast enough!):

Or is it just totally ignored?
Completely explained away as an overzealous Centre County (Pitt graduate) District Attorney that had it out for the football team. All the charges were trumped up or plea bargained away... signed BWI

Great site here, been really great seeing how other football fans see stuff.... though the down side has been seeing how bad Penn State fans really are...

If you don't think there a cult and some of the worst creatures on earth read this thread.... smh

Success With Honor. My favorite is the guy that hopes Paterno sets Stuart Scott straight -- if Scott passes through the gates of heaven.

Relayer: "To this day however, I'll never forget how he was on the air the night Joe got fired and almost seemed giddy about the possibility of mayhem and destruction taking over State College. The ESPN narrative that evening left a bitter taste in my mouth. "

91Joe95: "That's my last memory of him too. Hopefully time will mellow that disgusting display and I'll remember him before that."

bkmtnittany1: "If you watch the 15 minute tribute to him you will hear someone associated with ESPN call the network "A pristine company of journalists." I wanted to throw up. May Stuart rest in peace, but a "pristine journalist!" C'mon man!! Mike Wallace just rolled over in his grave..."

NewEra2014: "Well said. You expressed my thoughts exactly. You were just more tactful about it than I would be."

DCFrank: "Perfect summary of my sentiments also. ...may JVP set him straight if Stuart passes through the gates."

dwiz: "I think you make his point exactly. Nobody at ESPN gave a crap that Paterno had died. They used his death for ratings and nothing more."

northwoods: "Stuart Scott and ESPN did a lousy job covering the Sandusky/Paterno/Penn State story. "

SoutheasternPA Buck Hunter: "I remember this vividly. He seemed overjoyed when they showed the news truck overturned by the students. He wanted blood and he wanted SC burned to the ground."

The "ONE DAY PSU TRUTH WILL FINALLY COME OUT!" Shit is both funny and quite sad.

These sub humans completely block out that children were abused at PSU facilities by a PSU coach......HONOR FOR JOE! NO RUINED WEEKENDS!!!
