Again, it is unfair to punish future players for the past.

tOSU is in a better position to be able to help them, as opposed say to tSUN, who wolfed down players.

This vindicates the decision of some in the 2012 class.
Every bowl ban, scholarship reduction, or any other penalty has punished future players for the past. Incoming freshman were well aware of the allegations, and signed anyway. Every one of them had other scholarship offers, and wanted to be a part of the, "Ped State Way." There will be options for the current players to transfer. I really have no sympathy for anyone connected with Ped State. The "culture" has been a cesspool for years. Fortunately, it is now being exposed.

So with serious penalties PSU may be hit by...will we be looking to grab one or two like johnson or breneman? Just wondering.

That would sound good to me.

We need Tackles. And if the Patriots can play with two TEs, we could too.

I'd be okay with Mahon too.

Ok, I don't know where to post this question, but this thread seems logical. I've been hearing that any transfers from PSU will not count against the scholarship limit of the school that he transfers to.

Anyone have a feeling on how this will be balanced with the fact that we are under a scholarship reduction as well. It's a complicated situation considering that since tOSU and PSU compete directly for so many players, many of the transfers will likely be looking this way for opportunity.

Additionally, the NCAA is considering waiving scholarship limits for programs to which these football student-athletes transfer, provided they reduce proportionately in the next year. For example, the limit is 25 new scholarships per year to a total of 85 scholarships. If the limits are waived in 2012-13 to accommodate one Penn State student-athlete who wishes to transfer to a particular school already at the limits, in 2013-14 the school will be limited to 24 new scholarships and 84 total scholarships

Once again, I think even with scholly reductions most of them stick.

Imo, the kids psu recruited truly love the school and want to be there regardless of the outcome. And there will be little to none leaving.

With the decommitting of Dorian Johnson and Ross Douglas immediately after the sanctions annoucement and Christian Hackenberg now waffling on his commit, you still think as you did when you made these posts?

I think exactly the same as I did before. If they had received "USC type" sanctions, i think they would have stayed.

These are obviously more extreme than many Imagined.

So you waiting with baited breath to quote our posts and say nanny nanny boo boo wasnt as fruitful as you had hoped IMO.

Actually, I don't think the sanctions are "obviously more extreme than many imagined". Emmert had the death penalty still on the table as recent as a few days ago. As far as PedState getting "USC type" sanctions instead of what they got, you think that "only" a two-year bowl ban (along with two-year CCG ban) would've had no effect? Sorry, but I don't think so. Maybe not a bad as it will be now (heck, they had two decommits within a couple hours of the announcement, who knows how many more), but they still would've lost commits. And if these kids are as "PSU loyal" as you say they are, then even bowl bans should have no effect, but obviously they have.
