Waiting to get the word, but I imagine even if he had a perfect visit he will at least go to Mizzou next week before he decides.

Also a recruit saying he enjoyed a visit is standard so really would need a new announcement or insider info.

The insider info on the visit is really, really good but I can't give you any winky faces or running bananas or anything, I'm afraid.

It sounds to me like there is a real possibility that EJ might announce his decision sooner than later but he might also continue to take his visits, so I guess we'll just know when we know.

Basketball prospect Liddell reflects on Ohio State visit
We had a chance to talk briefly with Belleville (Ill.) West power forward E.J. Liddell, who made an official visit to Ohio State this past weekend.

Before we got into the interview, though, Liddell let us know he did not want to get into a lot of specifics about his college selection process.

“I’m trying to cut back on recruiting questions,” Liddell said. “I’ve been getting a lot of those lately.”

“It was a great visit and I love Ohio State,” Liddell said. “I got to spend a lot of time with the guys as well as Alonzo Gaffney and D.J. We got along pretty well.”

...

“Right now, the plan is to take all five official visits,” Liddell said. “But it could end up just being two or three.”

Liddell did say his current plan is to sign with his college choice in the early signing period in November.

wouldn't be shocked if he announces next week. i'm fully expecting mckinney to commit to missouri during the official this weekend. let's hope liddell makes it to monday morning without announcing. you better believe cuonzo is going to be all hot-and-heavy with the pressure.

well, liddell made it through the weekend without committing to missouri. so did mckinney, which i did not expect. there is scuttlebutt, though, that mckinney silently committed to the tigers before the visit (probably when a handful of crystal balls hit in succession) but was planning to announce shortly after. we'll see.

the school that concerns me the most regarding EJ is Illinois. Have no idea why. Maybe it is just because it is the home school and it is sort of flying under the radar with his recruitment.

I agree.

Sounds like after the Mizzou visit, EJ reached out to the Illinois staff to move up his visit. Don't be surprised if he visits Illinois soon and never makes it to KSU or Wiscy.

I think EJ loves OSU and our staff the best but there are some things going on with his family where he might want to stay closer to home (remember Torrence Watson?) and Illinois certainly has a recruiting edge where they can all but guarantee EJ an immediate starting spot whereas the roster situation at OSU is a bit more cloudy (which is a factor I think worked in our favor in pulling DJ Carton from Michigan).

This is a tough one to call.
