Michigan guard Andrew Dakich to transfer to Ohio State
The grad-transfer will add depth to Chris Holtmann’s thin backcourt.
Monday afternoon, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported that former Michigan guard Andrew Dakich will be transferring to Ohio State as a graduate transfer. The three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree is eligible to play immediately for the Buckeyes, and will add more depth to new head coach Chris Holtmann’s thin backcourt.
The son of former college coach and current ESPN analyst Dan Dakich, Andrew is a 6’2 guard who was put on scholarship for winter semester of his senior year. He red-shirted last season, after playing sparingly during his first three seasons, so he has one year of eligibility for the Buckeyes.
In his first three years in Ann Arbor, Dakich totaled just 22 points on 8 for 24 shooting. However, he was a valuable member of the Wolverines’ scout team.
