Pick-Central is coming to my backyard tonight to take on Lancaster. This is one of the best rivalries in central Ohio, maybe the best. The home team has won the last 5 games but overall Lancaster is 6-4 against Central over the last 10 games.

Before last season's loss to PC, Lancaster had won 4 of the previous 6 games against them. Over that 6 year span, Central was something like 30-3 in the OCC against every other team, and just 2-4 against the Gales.

I'm going to tonights game to get a good look at Luke Roberts and Isiah Dexter for Lancaster, and Jacoby Boren, Roger Lewis, and Taco Charlton for Pickerington Central. A lot of talent on the field, I'll keep you posted with how it turns out.

P.C. is coming off of a bye week and will have 12 days rest after competing in the Kirk Herbstreet Classic and are 0-2 but they have faced the #2 ranked Cin. Moeller and #3 ranked Cin. St. Xavier.

I'm bias towards Lancaster (2-1), but I think Central (0-2) will get the win tonight 34-22.

Here's a nice story on how the Carpenters spend their time trying to watch all 4 of their sons play football. Georgie is a Sr. at Marshall and Nathan is a RS freshman at Ohio, they play against each other this weekend in Athens, then they will make the trip to Detroit to watch Bobby play against the K.C. Cheifs.

Give me Mansfield vs. Massilon any day at Arlin Field.

This. Went to Mansfield Senior my freshman and sophmore years, and we got the opportunity to play at Massilon my sophmore year (JV squad). At the time, their JV squad had not lost a game in something like 5 or 6 years. It was the first time I had ever played in front of a standing room only crowd. We beat them by 4, and they were so pissed about it that they literally rushed us out of the locker room to get us out of town as quickly as possible. They didn't even let us take showers. We were supposed to have a rematch in Arlin Field my senior year (Varsity, but would have been the same players from the JV squads), but alas my dad got a new job near Lima and we had to move before my junior year started.

I think they've temporarily stopped that annual/every other year matchup because of the ridiculous animosity/tension between the schools, I think in part due to that very game.

I don't think they've played more than a few times since I moved to Indiana 8 years ago. I remember going to a Sr. High basketball away game (forget where), where there was a not insignificant fight between fans that I think possibly spilled over to the court. That's the kind of stuff you see with big, inner-city matchups, but man, the play on the court/field was outstanding.

I attended Ontario until I moved, but my mom's entire family and some of my cousins went to Sr. High, so I went to a lot of games.

I don't want to side track this thread too much, but the reason Mansfield Senior spells their mascot with a "y" (T Y for Tygers is one of the pep songs) is due to the fact that they did not want to be mistaken for Massilon. Yeah, that was a very hard fought game. By the fourth quarter the DL were trying to poke us in the eyes (I played OG) on almost every snap. Definately no love lost between the schools.

Anyway, back to the Pic/Lan game........
