Pre-Game Festivities!!!

NateG

Can't waste the day when the night brings a hearse
With the game being under 48 hours away, I wanted to get a grasp on everyone pre game routines. If you are in New Orleans I am sure partying/drinking will be involved but I want to hear the way you feel you will help the team the best with you routine leading up to the game. For instance, After monday night(dec 31st) went by I have worn something Scarlet and Gray or buckeye related everyday. With having title day off I am going all buckeye music/tv all day and then leaving to go to my party around 7. Discuss. and as always

Sitting in our hotel room looking right at the dome. Evil, evil city. I'm pretty sure they put alcohol in everything we drank last night.

The Streets were packed with scarlet and gray. We met friends who came down with no tickets. Everywhere we go Buckeye fans!

I've got my lucky outfit going. I wore it every game during the 14-0 run.
I'm very nervous about the game, but I know we'll be proud no matter what.

When I get home I'll be a Po' boy.

O H!

Unfortunately I am stuck in the 2nd best place to be for the game...The 'Bus Though I am still very much contemplating making the 909 mile trip down to cheer on the Bucks in Nawlins. Can't wait for the game. I have slept with my scarlet #7 jersey under my pillow for the last week. Tomorrow, I will awake to the fight song played as loudly as possible and don the wrinkled, drool covered jersey until I can't stand the smell anymore. (Days, weeks...maybe years.) I will crack my first gameday brew, grill up some wings and fight back the pregame butterflies and choke back the tears of pride in the agonizing anticipation of the next greatest 3 hours of my life. All of this on a Monday! God is good!

Since the University isn't cancelling classes for the second year in a row for the game, there is a slight...very slight chance I will attend one class this week...doubtful. However, in roughly 27 hours, I will be at least ten beers deep and steadily increasing my rate of intake with the anxiety that will no doubt be controlling me by that point. Nothing will exist outside of the confines of my own head and no words will be spoken. Only hope beyond hope that the Buckeyes will be crowned National Champions once again. It is my day. It is every Buckeye's day...GO BUCKS!!!!

I was wondering was the Buckeye faithful was up to in NOLA. I have been trying to keep busy watching NFL playoffs and looking through the BP boards for my Buckeye fix. Not too many Buckeye fans where I work, but I am breaking the business casual dress code tomorrow with my scarlet # 33 jersey! I think it's going to be a helluva game, and wish I could have made the trip even without tickets. I have a strange, but good gut feeling about tomorrow night, and I think the team is going to make us proud to be a Buckeye! For those of you in NOLA, cheers! And GO BUCKS!!!!!

Just got back to the hotel room from the Buckeye BCS bash at the convention center. There were ~20,000 fans there at its most crowded - lots of energy. The mayor (Nagin) spoke to the crowd, as did Gee, Archie, Gene Smith and the team captains. There are seriously alot of Buckeyes here.

I wish I could make this game this year, but here's how I did it back in January, 2004.

Wake up early and get some coffee and beignets.

Get my stuff together and get with the brother. Head to the Riverbend by Noon. Park the car.

Hit the first bar at Cooter Brown's and start drinking with all "da fans." We got 7 hours to drink and get down to the Dome. We hit 4 bars in the Riverbend all on the corner of Carrollton and St. Charles Ave.

Get on the street car and start bar hopping all the way to downtown, on/off, on/off, on/off. Stop for dinner along the way, on/off, drink there and drink some more, on/off. All the way down. Get off the streetcar at St. Charles and Poydras and walk up to the Dome. Grab a drink for the walk, of course.

Get inside, get the bad beer in the Dome and grab seats.

Kick OU's ass! :crystal:

Ah, what a night!
