Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2016)

I'm against jumping a team that played close against a P5 team when you blowout a G5 team. Auburn has much better players than BG, even though they had a bad couple of years. BG isn't an fcs team, but they are also rebuilding from last year. If we beat ok lama I expect the jump then.
That G5 team beat two B1G teams last year, on the road. You think Kansas is better than BGSU just because Kansas is a P5 team? BGSU would kill Kansas, and could hang with Auburn.

You must have seen a different BG team yesterday than the one I saw in person, which would struggle with Kansas and be annihilated by Auburn.

Not at all the same BG team as last season, and the coaching there has clearly taken a huge step backward.

Yea. When I say P5 I mean a real P5 team. They did t schedule Purdue or Indiana or Kansas or Iowa state. BG is on par with or better than those teams. If Clemson played Purdue and won by a handful they should drop. They scheduled a team that probably has a dozen future NFL players on the depth chart. Auburn had a terrible year last year but I bet they win 9-10 games this year and beat one or two top 15 teams.

My poll predictions based on the results of today's and tomorrow's games:

Tennessee staying top 10 is a joke. I bet they drop to 20. If they did that on Saturday with a lot of upsets and games that's one thing, but the whole football landscape watched the struggle to beat appy on Thursday. I think TCU stays where they are at. That was unimpressive and their brand isn't establishes enough to withstand wins like that. Dont count Georgia out. I think they jump into top 10. Wisky will vault but probably not to top 10 and MSU will likely stay stagnant at best. Last thing is we may see ole piss jump as high as 3 if they win by double digits. My money's on FSU to cover and take the 2 spot.

We'll come back to this at season's end and see if you're right....which I obviously doubt. BGSU in reality should've scored at least once TD, but dropped a shit-ton of passes. The double-reverse pass back to the QB would've been either a TD or at least inside the 5-yard-line and he dropped it. Even if BGSU ends up a 6-6 team, setting the school record in total offense is pretty fucking impressive.

Oh OK, so you can cherry-pick which team in a P5 conference is actually a P5 team in your mind. Right.

Tennessee won't fall much because they're SEC, plain and simple. Believe it or not, I do agree with you that they should drop...they should drop about 10 spots for that shitty performance. But, since they're in the mighty SEC, they'll get a pass...

Damn straight. Kansas <<<<<<< Alabama. Kansas <= bowling green. Kansas may be a p5 but I wouldn't give any credit to anyone scheduling them.

When tOSU beats Purdue I feel the same as when we beat bowling green. When we beat wisky or Msu or ttun it feels much much better.

Then maybe you shouldn't even use "P5" or "G5" in your rationale...

COACHES POLL: OHIO STATE RISES ONE SPOT TO NO. 4 AFTER DESTROYING BOWLING GREEN

Ohio State took care of business in emphatic fashion Saturday, destroying Bowling Green 77-10 in its 2016 season opener. That victory, coupled with Oklahoma's loss to Tom Herman's Houston Cougars, pushed the Buckeyes up one spot to No. 4 in the first in-season Amway* Coaches Poll.

The Buckeyes still trail top-ranked Alabama, Clemson and Florida State.
