Product of the system BS

Dryden broke it down into facts in his post above, but I'll summize it in one sentence: "Quinn got his stats against shit defenses". Like it or not, CHIEF, Quinn is nothing more than the by-product of the Charlie Weis "chuck it 'till you puke" pro offense.

Sure we can say that! And we can also say the same thing about Archie! But you can bet Brady will have a much better NFL carrer than Arche did......

And Troy Smith as well.

Can you make an argument -- ANY ARGUMENT AT ALL -- just once, without diminishing the achievements of somebody associated with Ohio State?

You might as well convert to a Buckeye, since you obviously have some twisted fixation with the legacies of Archie, Woody, and TBDBITL.

I love how you continue to use ND alumni and their PROFESSIONAL career to argue about Ohio State. The last time we got in an argument about OSU vs. ND you started rambling about what a great pro quarterback Montana was, and how Archie couldn't hold his jock in the pros. We're talking about college football here. ND alumni can outnumber Ohio State alumni in the pro football hall of fame by a zillion to 1 (hypothetical numbers obviously) and it wouldn't matter to me because it's not going to help ND win football games. What they do with their pro careers holds no value in the college arena and therefore cannot be used as collateral when arguing with another college team. No matter how hard you try, you can't make your has beens or your never was football players win games for you now. All you have is a fatass coach who thinks his shit doesn't stink and the next generation of hyped Notre Dame football players. All the hype and reflection on the good ol days of ND isn't going to change the fact that they suck balls today. Not fifty years ago. Today. And I hope we meet again this postseason so we can send Quinn out the same way we welcomed him, in a real game this past year. Not Navy, not Rutgers, not southwest Lafayette state tech, The Ohio State University. We showed you guys how to play real football. And unfortunately I have to admit, we could beat you once a year until I'm dead and buried and you and your fellow groupies would still talk shit in the off season and still feed on the hype. You will never give up, you will never concede. This is as admirable as it is pathetic. Furthermore, before you "bet" on Brady's pro career you better make sure he makes it there. He could blow out a knee any day. Or better yet, you better tell Weiss not to let his players ride motorcycles since that's such a popular trend. What was or what might be isn't going to help you in 2006 chief.

Same as YOU said about Brady! Product of the system!

NDChief, please try to remain on the topic at hand. This thread involves current QB's. Bringing up pro careers of tOSU players that started in the 1970s is not relevant, and will do nothing but send the discussion into the same old downward spiral.

We like Troy Smith, you like Brady Quinn - that's to be expected. Compare and contrast them, but please leave the other stuff out of it. We've been down that path far too many times already.

30 years difference and two different positions...totally irrelevant. Even so, the "system" of Hayes' 1974 and 1975 teams didn't pump Griffin full of carries...Pete Johnson got the vast majority of our rushing TDs those years. So, as always, your complete ignorance of anything Ohio State continues unabated.

Bottom line, Quinn ain't shit, Smith is the shit. Quinn rides on the coattails of Weis and pure media hype, plain and simple.

LOL! Johnson getting TD's have nothing to do with Archie being a product of the system! His pro career pretty much confirmed that.

I liked you more when ND was sucking. Since last year you have been quite annoying.

Well since they emerged to a decent team, the Irish fan base (the biggest and best one in the nation; "LOL!") seems to think that anyone and everyone involved with the ND program is simply untouchable.

It's funny they think that because they haven't won a bowl game in eight years. "LOL!"

Maybe Quinn can change that this year, though. He's the best the Irish have had in forever, and when other fans go bashing what they have, the arrogant, ignorant, and misinformed Domers go out and bash possibly the best college football player of all-time in Archie Griffin.

"LOL!" You can't be serious! Johnson took away carries from him, and yes, his NFL career was not very solid, and I've said so many times that I believe Quinn has a decent shot at a successful NFL career, so please quit bashing all-time greats in defense to something you have no earthly idea as to what you're talking about.
