QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

Does this kind of stuff have anything to do with it?

My understanding NJ reporter looking for a story and to make a buck off the kid, and father not wanting anything of it.

Even Meyer said Haskins isn't ready to be the face of a franchise yet. That's not a good look if your head coach is saying that right before the draft. Feel like there's some underlying maturity issues that we haven't noticed, and his dad acting a fool doesn't help that

Please link to that direct quote.

Haskins will be fine in the right situation. Redskins feel like he needs to sit a year and learn (which I agree with). Being drafted that low isn’t a bad thing... Although i’d love for the skin’s to start him vs the Giants this year and watch him light up that shitty franchise.

He said he's not mature enough to be the face of a $6 billion dollar franchise yet but that he would be soon

He was a redshirt sophomore. That's all he means. He's just being honest that Dwayne is still young. Has nothing to do with his character. And that's why the Giants should have taken him. He has elite talent and they could bring him along slowly. Instead they took the guy with Christian Hackenburg's stats and a mediocre arm.
