QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

If he chooses the good guys that would be quite a FieldsDay. I'll just show myself out...

I gotta ask, since I don't know anything about Fields' recruitment...

He signed with Georgia in late 2017 because he thought Fromm, also as a 5-star recruit, would be a bust?

Otherwise, I don't get it.

Probably thought he would get a legitimate shot at competing with Fromm by next season at the latest. When he was used sparingly this season, and as an extra running option exclusively, he felt his talent would be best utilized by another team. I can’t say I really blame him for doing so. The only player ranked higher than him in the 2018 class was Trevor Lawrence, who supplanted Kelly Bryant for the starting job at Clemson this season.

I still feel like Oklahoma would be the obvious end destination for him, but most of the buzz I’ve heard has Ohio State as the most likely to add him to their roster. I’m not sure what that would do to players like Martell and Baldwin, but if Fields wants in, you accept his commitment in a heartbeat.

I’m not saying it’s impossible, just pointing out two glaring reasons why Oklahoma might not make sense.

Meanwhile, the biggest plus for Ohio State is the close connection between Haskins and Fields via their personal QB coach.

I think if Fields comes in and wins the starting job Martell transfers. I don’t think that would impact the math for any other QB as Fields is here for two years at the most before declaring for the NFL - which lines up with what Martell would be looking at - it feels like it would be a pretty straight 1 for 1 swap.
