QB Kenny "the old righty" Guiton (WR Coach Wisconsin)

Ohio State insiders say that third-string quarterback Kenny Guiton has been getting more practice time, although offensive coordinator Jim Bollman denied that there is a plan to move the sophomore past fifth-year senior Joe Bauserman and make him the backup to freshman Braxton Miller.

The increased workload makes sense, though. Guiton?s run-pass skills are more similar to Miller?s than Bauserman?s are. Although Bauserman would still be the first one in the game if the Miller were injured now, that might not be the case later if the coaches can get Guiton enough snaps to be comfortable using him.

Bauserman surrendered the starting job to Miller last week against Colorado.

I really want to see Kenny G. get some PT.

If that makes me wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Bring back WJZA!!!

All kidding aside I want to see him and TG on the field because we need to feel secure with our backup situation.

I really like what I've seen from both and think both of them could step in without raising our blood pressure.

Yeah I agree... I like Joe.. but he's gone... we need to start figuring our our backup for next year... because its likely that either TG or Kenny G might not be here...

I remember seeing Guiton run the read option and thinking; "That is what he could do well!" He's got quick feet and he can throw the ball. But, he's still very skinny and I wonder how durable he would be running the ball much? Kid does have some talent.

shortened version -Kenny Guiton

I live in Tn and do not keep up as much as I should. I am very curious whatever happened to Kenny Guiton. Highly ranked recruit, was the heir apparent to Pryor, Miller came along and I never hear about him anymore.
Not ragging on Miller, he is a great athlete and I am sure he will be a good qb, but the game just seems to fast for him right now.
Not that I am for qb carousels (tho I don't have a problem with them as long as they are handled the right way), but not his fault, but Bauserman has been given ample time to show us what he can do.
Every time I have seen Guiton I was always thinking how he was going to be a good one. Now I never even hear about him.
Was just curious

He actually wasn't that highly ranked by the scouting services, and it wasn't because he wasn't well known because if I recall his two starting receivers went to Oklahoma and Texas. Almost seemed like a desperation move at the time to squeeze in a QB, as the Bucks had just lost out on Tahj Boyd and they offered Guiton out of nowhere right after pretty much. He had some other offers like Kansas, Iowa State, and Prairie View A&M, but I'm not sure he was ever the "heir apparent".

He really hasn't shown all too much in limited snaps but if things start looking worse with Miller and Bauserman, why not put him out there and see what he can do? Seems like a good kid.

Every pass he's thrown has been picked off.

That should about tell you the story. He just could never take off in terms of ability.

That's not true. He threw 2 passes, one was intercepted and one was caught for a 5 yard gain. Both were what would be considered in "garbage time" (i.e. late in the game with the 3rd team offense) and not necessarily reflective of his overall potential/ability.
