QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

I think that the Kyle McCord era is going to begin in this years Rose Bowl.
And I hope he has VERY thick skin.
Because if he has more than 5 incomplete passes, the fans will want to see Brown, and reminisce about how Stroud never missed a WR and ran like Mike Vick

“We didn’t really think about starting or anything like that,” Harrison said. “Obviously coming here together was a thought of ours. We always wanted to go to the same school.”

Two comments:

1) It will be interesting to see how the McCord to Harrison combination works out. It might be even better than with Stroud to Harrison, if that is possible.

2) There days everyone needs to have "a very thick shin" regardless what they do, i.e. even to post on Buckeye Planet......:ohno:

“Solid Athlete”?
Tell me more.

Not saying he isn’t mobile but I haven’t seen it.
I‘m not asking for Justin Fields.
But I think it’s obvious we need a qb that can get us some yards when he has too.

I’m convinced teams had their DE’s crash down on the rbs.
And on passing downs they could afford to drop another into coverage.

CJ had all day to throw but apparently none of our elite WR’s with gods gift to passing offense (Day) and Wr’s (Hartline) could scheme them open.

Not having to account for CJ at all running the ball is really limiting.

Against teams with decent talent our offense basically became a sublime pass by CJ and an incredible catch by Marvin.

Our core competencies evaporated.

Stroud should move on and McCord should step up. We need him (and Brown), not CJ, getting the bowl practice reps and game time in prep for next year. They should’ve been playing throughout the year, but here we are now.
Yep, but don't crown a winner for next year.

If Day learns anything from this year it better be this. First day of spring practice he better go in the QB room, and give a speech. Something like...

"I am not looking for the most talented, most technical guy. We need a fucking leader of THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES. We need fire, we need toughness, we need a willingness to do what is necessary to win THE GAME."

I am high on McCord, but if Brown has much better wheels that might be the way to go. Especially if he is willing to run through a brick wall for the Scarlet and Grey.

TOTALLY on board with this!

Agreed! I fucking HATE Penn State, but give me some of the moxie () of their stupid, annoying QBs and inject it into a guy with CJ Stroud's throwing ability.

Ohio State QB Kyle McCord 'getting better every day' behind C.J. Stroud, Buckeyes WR Marvin Harrison Jr. says

Ahead of the Peach Bowl, star Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. — who will be back as a junior next season — was asked about the Buckeyes’ future at quarterback and, particularly, his impression of McCord.

“Yeah. Getting better every day,” Harrison said. “He practices really hard. He gets game reps pretty much throughout the whole year in practice. Probably something you have in C.J., him or Devin (Brown) go in there with confidence, both coaches and players. They can go in there and make plays. We're not really worried about next year. We'll get to that when that time comes, but him and Kyle both go in there and make plays and practice really hard all week.”
