Questions for 1st timer...

Hi all,

I was wondering if i could get some help from some of you guys. I am part of a group of guys that pick a different college football game every year and this year we decided on THE Ohio State University. We are looking forward to experiencing some exciting Buckeye football.

With that being said, I was wondering if you might have some pointers/tips to our group. We will be arriving on thursday (10/21/10) for the Purdue game. As of yet we have still not acquired any tickets and was wondering, other than the ticket broker angle, is there any other sources for tickets? What is the "scalping" situtation like?

So if anyone could provide some tips for us to better enjoy our experience, that would be great.

Thanks in advance

Go Buckeyes!

For starters, plan on showing up to Skull Session and getting in the stadium before the band takes the field.
What this means is, make sure you have your tickets in hand several hours ahead of kickoff. Two hours before kick, the band will perform a pep rally inside St John Arena. Admission to the pep rally, or 'Skull Session,' is free. Seats are first come-first serve. Just show your gameday ticket at the door to get in. The event is always packed to the rafters. The team will also walk through with Coach Tressel, who will give a short speech. The visiting teams' band and/or a nearby high school band may also be invited to perform.

It's an essential gameday tradition.

You'll still have an hour to mill around and tailgate after the Skull Session concludes. Make sure you head to the stadium and are in your seat about 30 minutes before the scheduled start. The band will take the field at 20 minutes before kick and perform their well known Ramp Entrance, Buckeye Battle Cry and Script Ohio.

Since you're arriving Thursday, at some point Thursday night or Friday you should also hit up the Thurman Cafe and get The Thurman Burger.

This was the burger featured on the "Todd's Taste of the Town" segment during the OSU/Miami broadcast a couple weeks ago.

From the photo, this looks like the food Todd actually ate - somebody just threw a new top bun on it. Do you have any photos where the food doesn't look regurgitated and isn't covered in saliva? :wink2:

If you care about appearance, then Cameron Mitchells will be more your type.
