Quick Hitter
Lawrence Wilson

BuckeyePlanet was able to catch up with Akron St.Vincent Head Football Coach Keith Wakefield today, and he provided some insight regarding the recruitment of Lawrence Wilson. Wilson is a 6-6, 230 pound Defensive End that is rated as one of Ohio's top players.

Coach Wakefield said that "Lawrence is being recruited as a rush end and as a tight end" and that he believes "he can excel at either position at the next level."

He indicated that Wilson visited Florida this past weekend and only has his Michigan visit remaining before Lawrence and his family make a final choice.

According to Coach Wakefield, "the tradition at Ohio State" and "his folks wanting to see him play" are "primary factors" that the Buckeyes have on their side.

Coach Tressel recently visited for a basketball game and later met with Lawrence and his parents. Coach Wakefield indicated that Wilson "is not worried about the (NCAA) allegations" and "the family would like to have a decision by the end of the month."
