RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

Seemed pittman did well in allot of the drills, seemed to be in the top spots in most of them. I would asy he helped himself allot. One rumor going around is that Buffalo may trade McGahee to the Giants, so buffalo would then need a rb.

Bills finishing up draft homework

Have several positions to shore up

By Allen Wilson
Updated: 04/06/07 7:50 AM

Running back
The trade of Willis McGahee makes this position a high priority. Fans can fantasize about Oklahoma?s Adrian Peterson, the best in the draft, but the Bills would likely have to trade up to a top-five spot to get him. If they stay at the No. 12 spot, California?s Marshawn Lynch would make sense. He has the size, speed and receiving skills to be an every-down player.
There are plenty of other choices beyond the first round. Ohio State?s Antonio Pittman, Auburn?s Kenny Irons, Louisville?s Michael Bush and Florida?s DeShawn Wynn are potential workhorse backs who can run. Also keep an eye on Arizona?s Chris Henry, a surprise early entry who wowed scouts at the combine by running the 40 in 4.4 seconds at 5-11 and 230 pounds, bench-pressing 225 pounds 26 times and showed quickness and agility in drills.

As many as a half a dozen running backs could be selected by the end of the second round, and there could be some surprises. Ohio State's Michael Pittman has improved his draft stock and is likely to be the third running back drafted, somewhere in the opening selections of Round 2. The dark horse is Arizona's Chris Henry -- the 230-pound ball carrier who ran the 40 in 4.4 seconds at the combine and has been very impressive during individual workouts. He should also be drafted in the top half of the second round.

Pittman receiving increased interest

BEREA What if the Browns could draft Adrian Peterson not with the No. 3 pick but in Round 3?

In a twisted way, they might.

Nfldraftscout.com predicts Ohio State's Antonio Pittman will be Cleveland's third-round pick. The Web site compares Pittman to Peterson - but not that Adrian Peterson. The reference is to the Adrian Peterson who has averaged 4.7 yards a carry in five years of spot duty with the Bears.

A Round 3 investment in Pittman could lead to heavy duty by 2008 if Jamal Lewis doesn't play beyond his one-year contract.

Is it just me, or does this intro seem to be trying a little hard?

Well honestly it would be a foolish pick for the Browns only if they take Peterson with the third pick. Why waste another pick on Pittman when they already have Peterson and Lewis. And plus, Pittman won't get any time.

I think the point of the article was that they could take Pitt if they don't take AP in the first.

Pittman gains respect quickly

Monday, April 23, 2007 Doug Lesmerises

Plain Dealer Reporter
Columbus- Antonio Pittman sensed the shock in the crowd at the NFL Combine. His time of 4.4 flat in the 40-yard dash matched any running back coming out in the draft this year, tying top back Adrian Peterson of Oklahoma and Arizona's Chris Henry.
"A big thing about playing here was people not thinking I was fast enough," the former Buckeye said Saturday while watching Ohio State's spring game. "I had all the confidence in my ability, and I knew that once I had a chance to get out of the uniform and show teams how well I could move and do things that were not involved with 11 other guys coming at you full speed, I knew I would help my stock."
