RB Brandon "Zoom" Saine (official thread)

Sunshine Preps has posted video on Brandon. Wow is all I can say. He has improved night and day since his freshman year. Shows good power, cutbacks, decent balance, great hands, and above all SPEED. I knew he was fast but it's amazing how fast he is in pads. Also take note of one of the few people to tackle him in the clip on the first play:biggrin: .

Nice video. Would have liked to have seen him run more inbetween the tackles, but of the clips they showed of him doing that, he was able to break tackles and keep the feet moving. Boy, is he FAST in the open field! Great clip of him catching that guy on special teams. I expected the shiftiness and speed, but not the power... or the hands for that matter. Trying to think of a RB to compare him to, and I have yet to come up with anything. Impressive is a good adjective for him

Edit: Thought of one! He reminds me of a poor man's Beanie Wells. Not quite as polished, but you can see he has the tools

I love everything he brings to the table. With his combination of speed and power, no wonder the staff offered him so early. He is my number 1 RB this year, and apparently the staff's as well.

Well actually he runs similar to the way that Erik Haw ran in High School, they look almost identical except Haw may have been bigger.
The kid does have speed but he isn't that elusive, but who cares when you run as fast as he does, he is also patient for a guy with his speed. Which is something that a lot of fast backs lack, say.........Mo Hall.

Wow is right. I don't think there will be any more questions as to how his track speed translates to the field. He just destroyes pursuit angles.

I never got to see much film of TGII but I imagine the speed and acceleration are somewhat similar. Saine also seems to just put his head down and rip it when he sees open field. And Saine weighs at least 20 pounds more than Teddy (205-185?).

Outside of the speed [5 Stars on the WOW scale], I loved the vision and cutting ability. He reminded me of Teddy on a couple of runs when he would stop and start. Great acceleration too, it doesnt take him long to hit full speed/stride. I especially liked the video of him catching the guy on the kickoff return from behind.

Legs are always churning, especially upon contact. Really good video.

Piqua plays good teams too, no slouches. They are slightly smaller in size than they used to be but still play against the big boys of the GWOC. Thats the some of the best competition in SW OH only slightly below the GCL and GMC in Cincy.

Great Link RB.

Dont think I could of said it any better myself.

I was extremely impressed with this film. He is only going to get bigger and faster.

You can obviously see his speed and you can see his drive to not go down.

I also liked the little side step shuffle type move he uses kindof like what MoC did.

I think that he could easily be a top ten back in the country in a loaded year for rbs.

I was very impressed with his video. His ability to keep his motion going forward after contact was very impressive. Also I think that his balance after contact was incredible. He made numerous big plays after being hit at the line or within 3 yards of it.

I also like the play where he catches the guy from behind, you can really see his amazing speed. The only person I saw tackle him in the open field after he got going was our own Kurt Coleman on the first play:biggrin: . Also good call on his competition level. Piqua plays in one of the toughest divisions in Ohio that produces lots and I mean lots of talent. Hawk, Nugent, Coleman, Belton, remember Ryan Brewer?, Denlinger, and Pitcock off the top of my head.

Great speed. A previous post mentioned the lack of elusiveness. I'm not sure what is going on there because there are times he shows great change of direction and others where he expects to run through tackles. However, I like that about this guy. I'll try to catch a couple of Piqua's games this year and see what he shows off.
