RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

And it's not Dunn...but rather a 2-star RB from Ann Arbor named Drake Johnson, who is a similarly-styled RB. Interesting that Michigan decided to offer now...granted if Dunn wants in they will take him...but why offer another RB all of a sudden? Maybe one of our visitors could expand on this as it pertains to Dunn?

Despite what Sam Webb says, have to think this puts the lid on RB recruiting.

Don't think Johnson and Dunn are similarly-styled RB's at all to be honest. Dunn is quite a bit bigger, more physical, has better vision, and runs with more authority. They are definitely "one-cut" and go, north/south backs that are not going to juke people out of their shoes- but Dunn is a much better back. Johnson also has much more speed than Dunn.

Johnson is one of the fastest high school kids in the nation. I think a great comparison to Drake Johnson would be Brandon Saine, and we all know how Brandon Saine turned out. Good player, but never lived up to what I thought he would be simply because of that size/speed combination.

Dunn is more Chris Wells like with less top-end speed. Drake Johnson is almost like a Brandon Saine clone.

Brandon Saine was Mr. Football, a top 100 recruit by some sites, one of the best players on our team as a junior, a solid contributor as a senior, and is now in the NFL.

He may have lacked any wiggle but was still a damn good player.

I get the speed/no wiggle comparisons but Trieu doesn't seem to think too much of this kid's game.

Yeah, i'd say about every M fan agrees with him. The offer right now makes no sense to me. Why now? should have waited till the end of the recruiting cycle, as we're in on a lot of prospects. His only other offer was EMU, we could have waited to send out an offer. If we missed on Dunn this would have made sense. Head scratcher IMO, dont know what the coaches are thinking.

I'd say they've done a pretty good job on recruiting up to now. I'll trust they know what they're doing.

Visiting that school up North this weekend with his cousin. Sorry if this has been answered already but is Briontee enrolling early?

They'll put the full court press on him about the Failure to Monitor; try and get him to commit on the spot. If he leaves Ann Arbor still a Buckeye, he's all scarlet and gray IMO.

I would recommend not getting hung up on the tweets of a 17-18 year old kid. Long way until signing day.

Yeah, that's disheartening. But then I remember that even Spielman came down to the good guys and the bad guys.

Yeah, imagine a high school kid being excited to see two of the winningest teams in college football history play in person in one of the most storied venues in all of Amercian sports. :roll1:

Just chill...

Was at the SCum game today and is now taking an official there next week with a lineman who was once committed to the good guys. Kalis and Thomas are both working on Brionte hard. :(
