RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

He is also enrolling for the Winter quarter (correct?) ala MoC.
Correct. He's enrolling winter quarter so he can participate in spring drills.

I'm confident that he'll keep his commitment. He loves the Bucks, he's not looking at our biggest competitor (and childhood favorite) anymore (scUM), Butch Reynolds, close to home, play early for a football powerhouse, great education, great chances for jobs after college...

The situation couldn't be better for him at tOSU. While he's at it, might as well look at Hawaii. My sky isn't falling over here! :)

Folks, Chris Wells isn't going anywhere other than OSU. I would encourage him to take his visits...check out Los Angeles and Miami with the school picking up the tab. But no matter what kind of red carpet Petey or Lloyd roll out, in the end Chris is going to join his friends/mentor at OSU. He and Reynolds are obviously extremely close, and he is also tight with Torrence and Pittman. So don't get concerned if some guru from the USC site writes up an article that sounds like they still have a shot...Chris is very media savy as he has been doing these types of interviews for a while and I'm sure he knows what he is doing.

I am now 100% convinced that Chris should take every visit, drop hints to reporters he may be changing his mind, etc..
This is because as it stands today, he is only the #3 player in the country according to Scout, and not even the #1 RB on Rivals.
A few months of playing the recruiting game should have him #1 in both categories!

even on the rivals message board, USC fans were convinced that he was not going to come to USC. one of their reasons was the fact that they dont have a need for a running back(which is bull because he is one of the best, if not the best, in the country). like wadc45 said, he does not want his name to pop out of the news now that he has committed say like Mark Sanchez did last year. if i were a big time recruit, i would take all my visits and the first place i would go would be a miami school and probably USC, just for a free vacation

Wells is glad that Connor Smith verbaled to Ohio State. Chris says he misses having Butch Reynolds around but would rather have him for four more years at OSU. Wells also says we need to land Aaron Brown next.

That sure sounds like someone who is going to hold true to his commitment. :)

That's some hilarious double-talk right there. Do they care to explain what has happened between the Gwaltney saga and right now to shore up their RB situation? :shake:

Everyone who plays Garfield this year will likely stack the box to try and stop Chris Wells before he gets started on the ground. So that makes the passing game that much more important to the Garfield offense. If Garfield has any success throwing the ball behind the strong arm of Kyle Shaffer, Wells will certainly be unstoppable on the ground. Wells and Cortez Jones, one of the best unknown players in the entire state, will give Shaffer two solid options through the air this season.
