RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Dallas Cowboys)

I love Zeke, but he's making it harder for me to like him on the Cowboys. Stupid drama seems to follow him around and now he's holding out with 2 years left on his contract.

I'm all for a guy getting paid - the window for them is small - but if Dallas could find a good trade offer I'd be fine with someone else doing it. Damn shame, really. I never thought I'd get to this point with him.

I kinda get it but ... he is the key to that team... Dax is getting paid because of him and what he does and what he makes the defense do (yes yes Oline is more important)... he's got a limited window he needs to go get paid...

Do you think Dax has the numbers he has with other RB's back there?

I'm not sold on Dak with or without Zeke.

But Dak isn't a Buckeye nor does he find himself on TMZ doing stupid shit and he hasn't managed to get suspended (whether I think it was justified or not). I expect more from Zeke - not as a player, but how he conducts himself. He's like another suspension just waiting to happen. And for the love of God can he stop with the "feed me" thing after every decent run? I figured he'd leave that in college but nope.

Now he's holding out. My patience has worn thin. He's a beast on the field but an overgrown child off it. I keep thinking he'll grow up but there's been little sign of it.

I'm with you 100%. The entire offense is built around him. I've been down on Jerry Jones since he fired Tom Landry on TV. If he forces Zeke out, he'll get exactly what he deserves. I hope that Mike Weber is paying attention.

Jerry Jones has been letting Zeke twist in the wind. If I were Jerry, I would tell Zeke to kick rocks. What is Zeke's leverage? He isn't any closer to free agency even if he sits out the entire season. RB isn't a position that the wiser front offices break the bank on in today's NFL. The Todd Gurley signing already looks like a dumb move after 1 year. The Cowboys consciously built a dominant OL, and a lot of RBs can be productive behind that line. Plus if you are going to be paying Dak and Cooper big contracts, by also giving Zeke a big payday you are going to be running into major salary cap problems and have to cut some good players.

If you're going to pay Dak (why?), you might want to invest in the RB who both takes pressure off of him by being an all around threat and picks up blitzers with aplomb. It's all moot anyway since as long at Garrett's the HC they're not going to do shit.

Great business decision, horrible team decision

Dak is insane if he is insisting on 40 million a year. I am on the fence whether Jerry should actually give Dak 30. The risk is you have a playoff team with him leading the offense, and you could become the Browns with the revolving door at QB if you let him go. Much more reason to pay Dak big money than Zeke, because there are a lot more bad QBs at the NFL level than good ones, and having a subpar QB hurts the team a lot more than going from a top RB to an average one.
