RB J.K. "All Day" Dobbins (2017 B1G CG MVP, 2019 1st Team All-American, Los Angeles Chargers)

Or if defenses actually had to respect the deep ball...

I honestly can't remember screaming at my TV for them to throw the deep ball. By way of comparison screaming to give the ball to Hyde or Zeke has happened quite a bit. I've even yelled for JT to just take off with it. Don't get me wrong as I enjoy a long pass just like everyone else. I'm just comfortable with mercilessly pounding the rock until DB's are forced to become run stoppers.

If JK is as special as he looks the passing game WILL open up. Defenses just won't have a choice.

OHIO STATE RUNNING BACK J.K. DOBBINS NAMED EARL CAMPBELL TYLER ROSE NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The weekly honor is awarded to the best offensive player in college football who either plays for a school in Texas or is from the state of Texas. Dobbins, a native of La Grange, Texas, earned the award after running the ball 29 times for 181 yards – the most ever by an Ohio State freshman in his first game – while also adding two catches for 24 yards in the Buckeyes' season opener against Indiana on Thursday.

I would be quite entertained if we went the entire season without a Longhorn, Aggie, or Baylor Bear winning that award.

FWIW, apparently JT has been a multiple winner:

I am so impressed with and pleased for this kid. His first start since his JUNIOR year of high school, as a true freshman, on the road in a conference/division opener and he's the national offensive player of the week? That's too outlandish for a made for tv movie and yet he came in early, ground through it, picked up the playbook, and more than answered when his number was called. Fcuking outstanding. It also says a lot about Tony Alford and could/should be used in recruiting moving forward.
