Cannot wait to see what a healthy Jaamal Berry can do with the ball in his hands.

Barwis,

That looks like Brett Goetz in the middle there. I don't expect many to know who he is but he's very "in-tune" with Southern football and recruits coming out of Miami.

I think that picture was taken from the South Florida Express tryouts. I know Wayne Lyons and Gabbari Gorman were there, as was our good friend Genron rocking some Notre Dame gear?
Anyways, I've returned like 5 kicks with J Berry on the NCAA demo and it makes me wonder who will actually be back returning kicks? I'm not sure I like having Boom and Saine back there. Not because they aren't okay at it, but I'd love to see some guys like James Jackson, Berry, Jordan Hall, and maybe Torrence. No shortage of athletes on this team, but I think the biggest thing Tress is concerned with is ball security, something Boom and Saine are both very good at.

I think Berry's best days are ahead of him and nagging injuries I am sure are something he would love to forget about and not have to deal with, I do not think it is something he brings upon himself. I can't wait until he is healthy and is that homerun hitting running back he can be.

He is a one cut and gone type of back and we usually do not have that here, Beanie was a HUGE version of that but Berry has some quicks and jukes that are different than what the "typical" Ohio State tailback has. I am one that is beyond excited to see what he can do.

His size build and style somewhat reminds me of Barry Sanders (not saying he is that good or anything) but Barry would hit a whole he would run up the middle and he would lose yards but he would make up for everything with one to two amazing runs a game. I think Berry just needs the carries and reps to get the game's speed down and the blocking in front of him in order and he will do great.

Coming into 2010, Berry is healthy again and ready to compete for playing time. Saine said the young runner's attitude through all of his struggles last season has been admirable.

"(Berry had) a lot of ups and downs," Saine said. "But he was always smiling, always had his head up. I think he's excited for this year, but last year might have taught him that you have to take every chance you can get.

"In general, he was pretty positive about everything. He knew he was still young and had a lot of time, so I think he kept that in mind."

As Berry's roommate, Saine said he is ready and willing to lend the youngster a hand.

"I can answer any questions that Jaamal has, and can definitely help him out with the playbook," Saine said. "I think that's one of the biggest things, when you're a younger guy you're pretty overwhelmed with what's going on in that area. So I can definitely help him."
