That caused a fight? (I'm being serious)

I don't know the specifics but from what I understand his reaction to the medication caused the incident. A witness stated that Berry was hanging onto a man and that man didn't know what was happening and thought he was being attacked (Berry is 210lbs of muscle).

Berry was dis-oriented from his new meds and from what I understand no punches were thrown.

Im sure the man probably thought he was bring jump by a drunk or something???

Hmmm...given the time of day and where this happened, I wouldn't doubt that. Not too many football players (I would think) would get in a random altercation in the South Oval at 10 am. Curious to see what happens though since the OSU Police report listed it as an assault as of this morning. Here is the link to the full article.

The media sure was quick to tab this as "an assault on another student" weren't they? Like another student is going to be "assaulted" by Berry and Berry ends up the one disoriented and confused.

The police termed it as an assault....it seemed his disorientation has to do with somthing other than the scuffle....somthing that drew the concern of bystanders, a police officer and coaches....again hope he is ok

While I am no doctor..yet, I do have experience and knowledge in the mental health field AND yes reactions to medication such as this do happen. ESPECIALLY, with medication being prescribed for epilepsy, depression, and other other "psychological or "physiological" related issues. I have seen more than my share of people having negative reactions to medication and some of the shit that happens is very scary. All I hope is the kid is OK and the doctors figure out what happened.

Assault might just be what they have to label it at this time. In Florida its called Battery, which basically means "unwanted touching". Doesnt mean he actually beat someone up.

It's supposed to mean that in Ohio as well, but nobody uses it right. Everybody says assault when they mean battery. Fear of being harmed is assault, actually being harmed is battery. (or unwanted touching, like you said)

Agree. And maybe a relocation to the rumor mill until this gets sorted out.

Best to Jaamal in the meantime.

I know absolutely NOTHING about Berry's situation, but yes, a reaction to certain medications could cause him to end up in a fight. And this should be in the rumor mill.

It's not in the rumor mill because the incident has been reported by the mainsteam media, and commented on by Coach Fickell.

I believe what you're both trying to point out, however, is that speculative comments about the health of a player aren't appropriate for his thread. And that is true.

From what I'm seen I'm envisioning Berry confused, walking around, not entirely lucid and grabbing someone (maybe for support?). That person gets freaked and defensive and we have a fight.

Berry just randomly attacking a student on campus in the morning just doesn't sound right.

Obviously we shouldn't pass judgment, but I have a feeling he is fairly innocent here and it is being misreported.
