RB Jermil Martin (transfer to Northwestern Oklahoma State)

Opposing teams have taken notice of Jermil Martin. He carried the ball only three times for 11 yards Saturday, but it?s clear opposing coaches have taken notice of the 240-pound tailback after his 7-carry, 75-yard performance against Minnesota last week.

?I?m glad that didn?t pound that big guy at us, that No. 41. Boy, he?s a load. He?s gonna be a great player,? said first-year New Mexico State Head Coach DeWayne Walker, who coached the defense at UCLA last season.

Rumors have been swirling for about a month that Ohio State running back Jermil Martin might transfer, and this week there was an indication from a source close to him that he might be at least considering it. No possible destinations have been mentioned and no one has offered a reason for his uncertainly, although OSU's logjam at running back might explain it.

Martin is a third-year sophomore, so if he transfers to another Football Bowl Subdivision school, he would have two years of eligibility remaining after he sat out a year.

This may be a situation where there isn't any anger towards each sides, the kid just wants to play. I think he feels he may be better than Boren, I hope the best for the kid, he can play

I hope the best for the kid, but if he was better than Boren he would be playing. Then you have Homan backing up Boren there is just no room for him. The best move he could make if he wanted to play is move on. I wish him luck!!!!

I agree, if this kid wants to see the field, he's gonna need to transfer. Its only gonna get harder for him to get PT when Roderick Smith gets here too, not to mention the 1-2 RBs we probably bring in next year. Wish the best of luck to him, whatever his decision is
