RB Roderick Smith (Official Thread)

Scout.com: Scout On the Road: Indiana

Friday - Fort Wayne Harding at Fort Wayne Wayne

We will have our eyes on Ohio State commitment and Harding running back Roderick Smith. Smith could become the all time leading rusher in Indiana state history this season. An impressive combination of size (6'3, 215-lbs) and speed, Smith is a four-star prospect just on the cusp of five. We know he can run, but we will be looking for him doing the other things tonight, blitz pickup, catching the ball and some of the other finer points of the position.

There's 9 regular season games for Harding. If they make it all the way to state finals, that's 15 total games...

Roderick now has 2520 yards to beat the Indiana HS record after today's game. That is 180 yards a game if they make it to the finals. If they lose in the first sectional game he needs 280 yards a game from here on out. If they make it to regionals (very doable), he needs 230 yards a game.

He'll break the conference record during the third game.
I'll likely keep a running tab for the heck of it if anyone cares, good luck to him and his team this season.

Great game for Rod. Wayne is pretty terrible year after year but it's hard to discount 271 yards and 4 TD's. I'm excited to see how Rod will run against some of the tougher SAC teams like Dwenger, Luers, and Snider.

I didn't realize IN was starting tonight, I know OH is next weekend.. but anyway, before I left my buddy's house tonight, about midnight, I asked if he was up for catching a game sometime this season over in the Fort.. I said, and I quote "let's go watch Rod rack up about 275 and 3 TD's"... I was just trying to pump him up so he wanted to go soon...

And I get home and see this stat line... oh my!!
