OSU Knights

Consigliori
I caught this out of the corner of my eye, that Coach Tressel should play Wells for the first half of the games leading up the OSU VS. Michigan, and play Pittman during the second half of the game leading up to the OSU - Michigan game.

Do you think that is smart?---- I personally think thats somewhat of a good idea so that Chris Wells gets some playing time, just in case if we need to play him during the game. Also Antonio Pittman gets some playing time because he is obviously going to play during the game. But I dont know.

Why wouldn't they just continue to rotate them as necessary such that they both get the number of snaps Coach Tressel wants?

Huh?

What has C.Wells done to deserve to start and play half the game? What is his longest run? How many 100+ games has he had? Yes he was a 5 star recruit and has a promising career ahead of him, but he won't be the offensive key to beating Michigan. Next you'll be saying start J Zwick and leave Troy on the bench to get JZ ready for Mich.

Personally I'd like to see Pittman early because he holds on to the ball.. and then when the defense is tired make them try to arm tackle Wells in the 4th quarter... We'll need Well's big time in the Michigan game because that defense is strong..

I don't know. That would make the most sense though. But with Tressels theory and the way he has been going, he has been switching them on and off. Which is basically a good idea, but why doesn't let Wells play so Pittman can rest for awhile... Just like the guy said before you

I'm not saying that im just saying that Pittman is going to need rest, and were are going to need Wells in the long-run in the Michigan game so they mise well get him some playing time.

Pretty bad comparison... Wells will contribute vs UM and is our short-yardage back. Zwick will not contribute unless the absolute best/worst scenarios occur (blowout/TS injury).

Using Pittman for the entire second half is less tiring on his legs than using him for two-thirds of the plays in the first half and one-third of the plays in the second half? I'm not sure I buy that.

Wells is getting plenty of carries and Pittman is getting plenty of plays off, in my opinion.

Exactly were going to need Wells, so we have to get him playing time and why not get him playing time when we have to face not the greatest teams in the world?, and then play Pittman?

Beanie has been getting plenty of quality reps. He is playing a huge roll on our offense as a short yardage back and as a breather for Pittman - just look at the Iowa or MSU games.

I agree. At this point in the season, everybody pretty much understand their roles in this offense. There's no need to twitch anything because everything has been working well. All that's left to do is execute.

What I was saying was that AP through his performance in games and practice has earned the starting job and deserves to keepit. If JT thought Chris had earned, a chance to start he would start him. Yes C. Wells is our short yardage back and will get plenty of opportunities in the next four weeks. He needs to hold onto the football though. If for some reason Chris was out I would have plenty of confidence in the O-Line and AP to get the short yardage. Even against Scum.
